Definitely let the cancellation go through, they just wouldn’t budge beforehand. VIP doesn’t get cancelled unless contract has lapsed for a long while….

When you say "let the cancellation go through", do you mean giving 31 days' notice or do you mean waiting for the notice period to expire including the collection of old boxes?
Sky don't normally send the pre-paid bags for your SkyQ box until a few weeks after the cancellation has taken effect. Because they don't want to lose customers, they will normally make an offer before then.

    Thank you.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Funnily enough that’s what I thought, however my pre paid box arrived after only 2 days after my services expired!

Did you turn down offers pre cancellation date ? Wonder if that flags up sending the box out rather than the cancellation itself. I was basing the comment on a friend who cancelled but had the Q box for several weeks before they wanted to recover.

I just got a letter rolling over most of my deal for another 12 months, without extending my contract. Not bad, but an additional £7 a month "in contract" discount wasn't rolled over, so I may call and haggle a bit more,

Now I have a substantial TV package. Movies/Sport/Multiroom etc.

I always find my opening line of paying 50% of a lot is much better than 100% of feckall  goes well.

ok, its that time of year again!! Sky chat below-

    And Sky Broadband Ultrafast 1
For TV your contract will end on 04/12/2022 and for broadband your contract will end on 24/12/2022
Your future bills are showing as £135.00"

Laughed at this and asked to go to cancellations, offered this

"What I can do ,I can give
Sky signature £7 off, standard cost is £32, you will pay £25 for 18 months.

Sky multiscreen £1 off, the standard cost is £15, you will pay £14 for 18 months.

Sky HD £1 off, standard cost is £8, you will pay £7 for 18 months

Sky UHD Standard cost is £4, you will pay £4 for 18 months

Netflix Standard coat is £6, you will pay £6 for 18 months

Sky broadband Ultrafast £9 off, standard cost is £40, you will pay £31 for 18 months

New discounted monthly cost will be £87 a month"

    Declined, offered this

"Okay I can give £13 off on sky signature, standard cost is £32, you will pay £19
Sky multiscreen £4 off, standard cost is £14, you will pay £11
New discounted monthly cost £78 a month for 18 months."

Still not happy as seen better deals on here. Have started cancellation process.

1st Communication - Me to Sky to Cancel - No offer at all

2nd Comm - Me to Sky to get a better deal - Offer slightly more than what I was paying. Offer accepted.

3rd Comm - Me to Sky Cancelled again… No offer made.

4th Comm - Sky to me.. - offer made no better than first.

5th Comm - me to Sky last day in contract, offer made no better.

6th Comm - me to Sky a few days out of contract, offer made accepted, less than I was paying last year before price increase….

I think the box arrived same day as me renewing/signing up again.
