ok, final update as have accepted offer.
Spoke to Amy on the 'Winback Team'- worth asking for!!
final offer accepted was:-
Superfast BB £33 (got £36 credit applied = out as £31 a month-ish)
Signature £19
Ultimate £5 (£20 credit applied so free for 4 months)
HD £4
Multiroom £4.50
So TV is £32.50 Broadband Superfast £33-Total £65.50
My tv was due to end in 20 days so asked for credit for the remaining term and this was granted immediately.(£33.73)
Total monthly bill £65.50 with credits of £20,£36 & £33.73 being applied.
This brings the BB and TV cost down to equivalent £60.51(£1089 total over 18 mths -Quite happy with that).
Have noticed since doing all this, everyone on this forum has various offers ie, signature, normally £19, some saying £17, some even £10 but looking at the other costs(HD, multiroom etc) once you add it up they always come out very close to the final result, but its worth the calls(nb. not online chat, got nowhere on that) as i saved £171 over the 18 months after my initial call, and had I left the bill without calling at all and my contract to roll on I would be £1341 down for the same package over 18 months!!!(£2430 total)
Hope the breakdown above helps others get a better deal.
Regards
MM

I’ve tried by both live chat and phone and both offering the same deal:
Signature £18
Sports £17
HD £3
UHD £3So £41 in total. That’s the same deal I’ve been on for the last 18 months so ideally I would like to reduce it a bit further. So decided not to go ahead at the moment. I’m currently in a pending cancellation status.0 -
This is all very time-consuming. I thought that Sky wanted primarily to win broadband customers.
It is all rather inane. Sky: "What do you like to watch?" Me: "My wife likes The teenage dwarf moms of Hollywood, my father-in-law likes female rugby, and I watch GB News, but none of us watches films". Not amused.
Finally, a fantastic gentleman who seemed to be about ten pay grades above the rest offered: £20 Signature, £19 Sports, £15 Multiscreen, and £4 HD. I accepted to avoid further time and duress.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -

Don’t know if it’s a good offer but I was happy, as it was what my budget was … hopefully it gives someone a hand negotiating.Definitely let the cancellation go through, they just wouldn’t budge beforehand. VIP doesn’t get cancelled unless contract has lapsed for a long while….
& who knows I’ll be right at the end of the cooling off period when they will probably announce Black Friday Offers…0 -
At one point I had everything with Sky, TV, Multi-room, Broadband etc and it was only costing me £55 a month for all. By the end of that contract it had snuck up to about £80 a month.
Once that became out of contract it was going to shoot up to £130!
I sat and thought that my step dad literally pays for everything on his package including sports and movies and barely comes close to paying that much, whereas I had boxsets and that was it.
My broadband was unreliable so cancelled that. Sky's line comes through BT anyway and I found it cheaper with BT and more reliable so switched. Cancelled multi-room cause I only lived in a flat anyway and re-contracted TV only last November for £23 a month. I did say I didn't want to pay any more than £20 a month, Sky offered me £25 and we near enough met in the middle.
But I barely watch it these days0 -
My contract finished a month ago. They've now offered me Skysports / Signature and HD for £33 a month, not far off my previous contract 19 months ago.
If they'd offered that from the outset before playing hardball and their silly games I'd still be a customer. All they've done is make us realise we don't miss it and we're now £400 a year better off. Their retentions model for loyal customers is a complete farce. Adious Sky, your equipment is in the post. (note they give you a couple of months to send it back - so they can work on you obviously)0 -
Sky definitely seemed to have changed their tactics. Did sky chat to try and get a better deal. From January I was going to be paying £64 (sport £26, cinema £10, hd £6, signature £20, sport hd £2.
best they could offer was £15 for tv essentials 😬, so I could still use my sky a box.
i have actually gone through and given my notice to cancel and am now panicking as I’ve never got this far before. 😱
hmmm… I was obviously out of contract for sky movies as that bits already been switched off 😱. Can’t see any change to this months bill though to reflect the fact it’s gone?0 -

2 weeks after giving notice, offered
Signature £19
HD £4
UHD £2
Sports £16
Multiscreen £7
Total £48
Would usually probably accept that, but I'm looking for closer to £40. Happy for it to go if not.0
