Current bill shown below, just wondered what bits automatically get knocked off to offset the cost of SKY Glass.  Is the first puck still free or has that offer been withdrawn.

    Thanks in advance. AJ

  • Hi everyone Wow you all seem to have better deals than I have. Contract runs out end of month I have signature, HD, complete sports, superfast broadband with broadband boost plus pay as you talk and it crept up to @ £73 new package would be £112.50!
Offered £69.50 via text to renew which I declined.
Today rang retentions and best offered was £75.50! said new customer offer on website for same contact as I have £59 with no set up fees . I cancelled tv and kept broadband until I find another deal (at her suggestion something to do with active line take over ?)  Be grateful for any ideas who to go with for best deal with hope they will contact me with something I can't refuse in meantime :(

I called BT to cancel my BB today as best they could do for Fibre 2 was £32, I was told the same - there`s no need to cancel just ask your new supplier to do the active line take over.
I started looking today and best I could find was Sky for £23 (59mbs) or Vodafone for £21 (100mbs), although Vodafone customer service etc. appears poor making me a bit hesitant.

  • Hi folks,

What discounts are people seeing with Sky Q (signature package) at the moment?

I last haggled with Sky in 2020 and reduced my bill to £23/mth but they’ve slowly increased my bill since then. My packaging hasn’t changed so I’m wondering if it’s worth having another go as our household finances are getting tighter. I don’t mind re-contracting for 12/18/24mths if I can save a few £££’s

My current bill with SkyQ is £34.00/mth

     Sky Signature:                          £22.00

Ultimate TV Add on (Netflix):     £6.00

    Sky HD:                                    £6.00

Sky Go Extra (VIP reward):         FREE

I do have separate fibre broadband with Vodafone (max speed 32Mb) @ (£20/mth) which I would be willing to move to Sky if that helped with the overall savings.

Anyone have a similar setup on a better deal?

  • Been quoted £68 for Signature, Sports Multi and UHD apparently need UHD for the Netflix four screens.

seems poor value but package due to go up to £95 next month thoughts please

Well I had the delight of being on the phone with Sky the other day for nearly an hour and managed to agree a deal at the same price I am now paying and right at the end the guy said he had made a mistake and increased the price so I cancelled.
within ten minutes I received an e mail advising I had entered into a new contract with completely different contents followed by another e mail saying I had cancelled.
I have since emailed sky twice asking them what the hell is going off without a response and last night I note on My Sky they claim I have entered the new contract, any advice

I’d call them and explain what you were offered and explain the person you spoke to made a mistake. They can check phone records. You have a cooling off period of 14 days anyway so you should still be able to cancel.

I agree with what Kazyaz says above. You need to phone them and say you're in your cooling off period and want to cancel, explaining what happened and that you never agreed to this contract in the first place. I don't trust Sky anymore when verbally offered something on the phone as it's ridiculous the amount of times it isn't as a customer is told (hidden charges such as admin fees, discounts not for full length of contract despite being told it is etc). Also emails received from Sky afterwards are never clear either.

Managed to get this deal as a "win back deal":

    - Signature £17
    - Netflix £5
    - HD £4
    - Multiscreen £8
    - UHD £0

    Total £34

Sadly no one mentioned an admin fee on the call but I have £10 applied to my next bill. I called up earlier to ask if it could be waived and the person I spoke to said he couldn't do it but the person that did my order could maybe do it so they've sent a message to them and I should check my bill in 72 hours. It's still a good deal though I think.

Ah well, we're history tonight after a decade I'm amazed at the complete intransigence and the willingness of them to give up £400 of business a year. Folk must be bailing out left, right and centre but I guess they have a business model. Perhaps its not here in the UK. In my dealings to negotiate a new contract, they've been rude, abrupt with a take it or leave it attitude.
