Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I have had a Email from Sky about my contract ending which seems a bit odd , I'm paying £40 now, if I do nothing it will rise to £49 without a contract until Nov27 , or I can lock in a new 24 month deal at £67 a month !
Went on live chat and best they could do apparently was £45 with a 24m contract , I have put in my termination and see what happens.

Are your offers ending or is the 24 month contract ending?

My contract and offers are ending in November

No idea how you managed to get Signature for just a tenner but the post by @ritz55 immediately above yours seems a decent shout nowadays. Or just don't renew, have a good think about what you actually watch and consider just the streaming apps (I include NowTV in that) and the free channels.

I've been disconnected today but have had no email or notice on my account settings about any offer to reconnect - is there a specific number I should be calling?

Step 8 here has a number for Sky's win back team.

I see that Netflix is available for £0 for 6 months - if I select it, is it easy to cancel after 6 months to avoid paying ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.1 -
I don't know but if taking this offer will it affect any other offers you have?

I have done this multiple times, getting HD, UHD and Netflix free for various lengths, 2 months, 3 months or longer.
I always put a note in my online calendar for 31 days before the free period will end.
On that day I then use the online chat to give 31 days notice to end the add-on(s) that will otherwise start being chargeable.
The conversation always starts with a bot, but then, after going through some security questions, I get through to a person, and explain to them what I want to do.
It's never been a problem, but I always 'print' (to a local pdf file) a copy of the conversation, just in case there is some accidental confusion where they add something else.
Whenever the HD pack or Netflix deal ends, I look in the deals part of MySky again, and there's a new offer for 2 or more months free. Signing up is easy, no need for any conversation.
It has never affected my discounts, as HD, UHD and Netflix are separate add-ons.
It can make future bills look bigger, as they assume you will keep the add-ons indefinitely, until you give notice.
It's good to check future bills after giving notice, as they should then go back down to the normal level.
Also if you give notice in the second half of the month, and you are billed on the first of each month, your next month's bill might be higher during the month where the deal ends, as they don't adjust the bill that close to taking the money, but the extra comes off the next month's bill, so no extra cost overall.3 -
You would need to contact them in order to either change or cancel it. You may consider that a problem given your dislike of contacting them.
@Boohoo it's a rolling monthly deal with 31 days notice for downgrading or cancellation, so has no affect on any other discounts.
