Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Sorry, I had it in mind that the renewal offer was a rolling monthly deal for 12 months. It's an appalling offer regardless so don't touch it, wait until you're close to the end of term next March and call them. The broadband is earlier so don't forget it as that's a terrible price for 150Mbps. I'm paying £57 for roughly the same except that I'm on 500Mbps plus I have HD (I note it's not included in your screenshot).

Yeh i dropped Sky Sports, then UHD and then HD, to make my bill cheaper.
whenever i ring up they always say "youre on a great deal and we cant beat it"… i feel as though theres more that can be done though…
my BB is £35 though.. which is a fair bit cheaper than your £57…. yes, i wouldnt mind faster BB, but it hasnt been an issue in all honesty (and i work from home so have Teams calls).
would writing a letter of complaint help maybe? im better with writing than i am on the phone.
thanks

A letter of complaint about what?

about not getting the best deal…
bur maybe i shouldnt have said "of complaint", rather "to negotiate"…
I'd find it easier to put things in writing than on a call

It's a waste of your time doing that.
There is a sms/text chat that you can do instead of calling them.
It's on the sky site somewhere.

Yeah, my £57 figure is the total, not just for BB. It's £26 for 500Mbps, it was £25 but they messed up my account and had to juggle things around to get it back to the correct total figure.
As stated above, writing would be a waste of time. Your TV package is fine, it's the BB that you're overpaying for but given you've only got 3 months left on that give them a call or a chat and see if they can do anything, if not consider leaving early and going to a company that will pay the rather minimal ETCs. Check the prices beforehand so you can present them when you call.

oh i see… thanks again.. i can take your price ( I'm paying £21.50 for Signature, £5.50 for Netflix, £4 for HD and £26 for 500Mbps Sky BB ) as a negotiation starter

Can someone clarify. Our contract for Sky TV is up mid October.
Is the 31 days cancelling prior to 19th October or 31 days from then..
Hubby written letter advising intention to cancel if won't offer lower price. With them over 20 years and have old equipment of Sky HD and Sky HD+ had to spend £40 getting dish re alignend this summer as several channels lost and pixelating.
The reason for letter and proof posting - had bad experience in past with pricing then another agent quoting more.
Spoke 2 weeks ago and agent spoke to was pushing for streaming only- since then had letter notify us contract up and letter offers new price with exsisting old boxes or Q although states no price for Q.
Many thanks

I started on Sky chat this morning - got nowhere so phoned them and got put through to somebody in India. My sky tv package is going up from £49 to £70 (Entertainment & Sports only).
I asked why I could not have sky Essentials for £15 and Sports for £20? This is advertised on their website but only if you don't sign in!
Long pauses and no answers their best offer was £43 if I took their BB deal too.
I have a little time left because my contract does not finish until 21/11. Might have another go to see if I can speak to a Scottish person or cancel and see if they offer me anything better.
