Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

So I managed to get through to Winback via Live Chat and have ended up with the following deal:
Sky Signature = £12.50
Sky Sports - Complete Pack = £4
Sky Cinema = £12
Sky Sports HD = £2
Sky HD = £4
Multiscreen = £10
Ultra HD = £2
Total TV = £46.50
Sky Broadband Superfast = £24.50
Total £71
They actually quoted £75.50 initially, but the future bills showed £78. I contacted them back and they got it down further to £71 a month - result!

I think I was very lucky with that deal, the agent I got that quoted £75.50 said to me that his shift ended in less than half hour, so he had offered me the best deal possible straightaway. He wanted to charge a £10 admin fee, but I said if he could waive that then I'd agree there and then. And he did.
The next day I checked the future billing and Sports was showing at £13 (including £2 HD) instead of £6 and Signature £12.50 instead of the £17 he quoted. I contacted them back and thought I'd try the tactic of just going in and saying the price was not what was agreed as Sports was meant to be £6. I thought they would say they'd have to bring Signature back up to £17, but they just reduced the Sports down to £6 and I managed to keep the extra £4.50 off of signature! They just said it's now showing cheaper for you at £71 a month!
So I think there was definitely an element of luck here!1 -
Hi, my retentions experience below.
We have been with Sky for 23 years and "cancelled" our contract for TV, BB and Talk on 28th June, giving the 30 days notice. As the offers on the account had ended, the next bill would have been £104!
My package:
Sky Q 2tb
Sky Signature
Sky Sports (all)
HD and UHD
Netflix Premium
Superfast BB
Anytime Talk
Based on the offers I'd seen people get for different elements on here and elsewhere, my aim was to get this for under £72pm, however they wanted to break it down. (Something like the prices below)
Sky Q 2tb
Sky Signature - 14
Sky Sports (all) - 12
HD and UHD - 4
Netflix Premium - 5
Superfast BB - 25
Anytime Talk & Line Rental - 10
= £70pm
On 12th of July, I got a call from Sky who offered my package for £92pm. I said no, still too much. Asked for a call back if there were any significantly better offers before I moved. He booked me in for a call back next week (yes, some agents can do this).
On 18th July, I got a call back from Sky and offered my package for £72pm. I said no, still too much. They tried to get me to remove certain things and I told them a new customer would be getting a better/same deal than someone who has been with you for 22 years (most of the agents don't know pricing for new customers). Said it's the best they could do.
19th July, I tried Sky Chat - they offered £84pm, more than the previous offer.
20th July, I rang them and said I'd missed a call from them (I was bored), the offer was £80 pm.
21st July, I got a text to call them as they wished I would stay etc.
*At this point, I would take the £72pm if offered it again.*
22nd July, I called, stated the text, offer was £80pm still not good enough. Crap - did I say no previously to a good enough offer
23rd July, I tried Sky chat, offered £86pm.
-> I got busy, forgot about all this and by the time I knew it, it was one day before the cut off.
28th July - I rang them saying I had a miss call etc. Lovely Scottish lady assisted me (I found the agents from up North have been more willing!) so anyway, I told her after so many years, my service was ending tomorrow and I'd been offered £72pm. She checked the notes and see what she could do.
She offered me my package for £74.50pm after a lot of work (on her end - I was just nervously eating a cheese string, line by line). Offered to honor the £72 offer by adding a £45 credit to make it £72pm.
I was happy, said I'd take it - she began processing it all etc. While she was processing and adding in the different elements, she noticed that adding Netflix to a new 18 month contract for a VIP customer allowed for 5 months free NF! I was chuffed. It brought my bill down to £66 for 5 months, and £72pm for the remaining 13 months = £70.30pm.
Hope this helps someone
*All offers were subject to an 18 month contract.2 -
I’ve put my cancellation in after being let down. Had agreed £62 a month for Signature, Sports, Movies, UHD and Multiroom… which I was happy with.
This was last week but had noticed that my bills hadn’t corrected so went back on chat today only to be told that was incorrect and the best they could do was £71!
Was quite unimpressed at the lack of movement on this given they admitted they’d agreed it.
Anyway will see what comes with my cancellation.0 -
So after at least 22 years our Sky contract has now run out and we are officially Sky free…..or so I thought. Sky Go app is not working but I can still access all channels through my Sky Q box. We’re going to see how long we can last without it or until we get offered a decent deal.Let’s see how much resistance we can put up😱😱1
