I was paying about £104 a month for everything including broadband. Went up from £84 per month at the start of my deal.

I’ve now decided to cancel Sky altogether and seek alternative arrangements. Cancelled Sky
last week and got an offer today of Sports,Cinema and Signature for £37 for 18 months.

Going to try and stay strong and do without it but will miss pausing live tv which could be difficult 🙃🙃

seems like a great deal tbh, how much did they offer for the HD aswell?
Think it was £4. Don’t need the cinema but may see if they do something without it.

We have Sky Entertainment, HD, Boxsets and Superfast BB and talk any time extra. This was £53.50 following the recent April increase.  I received an email from Sky this week saying "We noticed you have some offers ending soon. But the good news is, we’ve given you new offers for another 12 months and you don’t have to do a thing"  but when I checked the monthly charge was going to be £70.50!

Yesterday I logged onto chat at 1pm, managed to chat with someone about 2.30 and on and off all afternoon the chat lasted until 5`ish (I was doing other things in between...lol): the first amount offered was £56.50, then he cam up with £52.50, his final offer was £48.50  for 18 months and when I asked he waived the £20 admin fee.

    Signature                 £17
    HD                           £ 4
    Talk anytime Extra   £ 6
    Superfast BB           £21.50

I am happy with this and think I managed to get a reasonable offer, it did take ages on chat though but at least I have it all in writing.  I have checked my account and it is showing already.

Never happened to me but I have heard of customers getting a discounted deal automatically at the end of their minimum period. I've always had to threaten cancellation or even let the cancellation ply out ,to get a deal. You might be able to get a few quid off the £55 pm if you give notice.

Regarding both of these posts. I also had one of these automatic deals.

My contract is up later in July.

    Sky signature
    Ultimate TV
    Sky Sports
    Sky Sports HD
    Sky HD

(No Cinema, Kids or Multi room)

Old negotiated price with the usual inflationary increases = £41
    Run on price = £82 I think

Was surprised to log in today (prior to visiting this thread to get the state of things in 2022), and see that my future bill is actually £63 pm not £82.

Looked back in my emails and I had an email near the end of May. "News from Sky - We've given you another 12 months of savings" with added comments "no new contract - no need to do anything"

Just cancelled via the web instant messenger.
They offered me the same TV for £43 (period not specified presumably 18 months if i commit to that) but only if I signed up for broadband at £25. Have seen better prices in this thread and in elsewhere in the market for broadband so said no. Expected a final offer based on katies_mum's experience above but that was all he came up with. Will see what else transpires.

They also initially offered Sky Essentials which is a glorified Freeview service with a Sky box discounted to £5 for a year (normally £15 per month). Was happy to turn this down on the basis that I have a second PVR that I barely use.

My sky went off 2 weeks ago.  Went to live chat this is what they offered me.
Im tempted by taking the £5 Sky essentials but i do then will that stop me from getting any other offers?

    Sky Signature at £19 a month (that's a £13 discount with an 18-month contract)
    Sky Ultimate TV at £5 a month (that's a £1 discount with an 18-month contract) - Netflix
    Kids at £2 (that's a £4 discount)
    HD at £4 (that's a £4 discount)
UHD at £1 (that's a £3 Discount when you dont have multiscreen )

This brings your total to £ 31 a month

Offers will start today and a one-off admin fee of £10 will be added to your next bill.
You'll get all the shows and channels you love in one place, at a great price.
    How's that for you?
  • Received an email from Sky today just saying they owed me a small amount of money, would repay it and wished me well.  So no offers from them.  Shame because I would have stayed if they had offered me something.

I've just had what I would deem a horrendous experience with Sky Retentions on Live chat.

Having dealt with them to renegotiate my own Sky package last year, I'm now attempting to help out my parents with theirs. The agent I chatted to was extremely obstructive and I had to ask them in total 9 times to submit the cancellation request. In the end it was only upon me asking to speak to a supervisor and stating that I wanted to make a complaint did they reluctantly give in and submit the request.

It has really put me off having Sky myself and think I will cancel mine altogether next year, when mine is up for renewal as well.

    Initially they offered:

Signature at £25 (£7 discount with an 18 month contract)

    HD at £8

UHD at £2 (£2 discount with multiscreen)

Cinema at £7 (£12 discount with sky sports)

Sky sports at £23 (£9 discount with an 18 month contract)

BT sports at £25 (£3 discount with an 18 month contract)

    Multiscreen at £14 (£1 discount)

    Then the second offer was:

Signature at £20 (£12 discount with an 18 month contract)

    HD at £4 (£4 discount)

UHD at £2 (£2 discount with multiscreen)

Cinema at £7 (£12 discount with sky sports)

Sky sports at £19 (£13 discount with an 18 month contract)

BT sports at £25 (£3 discount with an 18 month contract)

    Multiscreen at £14 (£1 discount)

Hopefully winback can do better than that.

I’ve seen a comment somewhere on here saying the beginning of the month is generally the best time for any deals as that is when the staff get their allotment of deals. Your experience would seem to confirm that

Latest offer today from retentions on live chat is:

    Sky Signature at £17 a month (that's a £15 discount with an 18-month contract)

    HD at £4 (that's a £4 discount)

    UHD at £0 (that's a £4 Discount with multiscreen)

    Complete Sports at £19 (that's a £13 discount with an 18-month contract)

Sky Cinema at £9 (that's a £10 discount with sports)

    Sky Q Multiscreen at £10 (that's £5 off with an 18-month contract)

BT Sport at £25 (that's £3 off with an 18-month contract)

It's better than before, but I'm thinking I need to hold out for Winback still. I'm sure they could do Sports lower at least.

  • How long do you need to be away from Sky before you can rejoin?  I’d accept lots of the offers that have been mentioned but Sky did not contact me to retain me.  Also how do you do Live Chat?  Not massively missing it at present but if they want to offer a Sports package with basic HD I’d accept, don’t need Cinema, Kids or extra boxes.  Email was sent last week saying they would repay the £1.68 they owed me, that was the only communication.  I am paying more to Now TV for the Sports package than the Sky offers.

Normally reckoned to be 12 months .However your problem will be that as a new customer they may only offer Sky Q that,I believe, you said you couldn't have ??

Reading this with interest, as my old deal expires on 22nd August so I will need to give my notice soon, seems to be mixed experiences, so I won't be holding my breath.

Realistically I may end up following through with the cancellation this time, but I have other ways of watching most content so its not the end of the world.

    Currently paying

    Sky Signature £19
    Ultimate TV £5
    Sky Sports - complete £5
    Sky Cinema £10
    Sky Sports HD £2
    Sky HD £4
    Multiscreen £8.50
    Ultra HD £2
    Total £54.50

Going to £84 from 22nd August

And I have no interest in paying any more for that than I already am!
As derisory a first offer as a I expected - £74, so a pretty easy decision to go ahead with the cancellation.

I do have Virgin broadband, so may see if they are willing to offer something more competitive as an alternative, but am happy enough to do without if not.
