Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

katies_mum said:We have Sky Entertainment, HD, Boxsets and Superfast BB and talk any time extra. This was £53.50 following the recent April increase. I received an email from Sky this week saying "We noticed you have some offers ending soon. But the good news is, we’ve given you new offers for another 12 months and you don’t have to do a thing" but when I checked the monthly charge was going to be £70.50!
Yesterday I logged onto chat at 1pm, managed to chat with someone about 2.30 and on and off all afternoon the chat lasted until 5`ish (I was doing other things in between...lol): the first amount offered was £56.50, then he cam up with £52.50, his final offer was £48.50 for 18 months and when I asked he waived the £20 admin fee.
Signature £17
HD £ 4
Talk anytime Extra £ 6
Superfast BB £21.50
I am happy with this and think I managed to get a reasonable offer, it did take ages on chat though but at least I have it all in writing. I have checked my account and it is showing already.
Regarding both of these posts. I also had one of these automatic deals.brewerdave said:Never happened to me but I have heard of customers getting a discounted deal automatically at the end of their minimum period. I've always had to threaten cancellation or even let the cancellation ply out ,to get a deal. You might be able to get a few quid off the £55 pm if you give notice.
My contract is up later in July.
Sky signature
Ultimate TV
Sky Sports
Sky Sports HD
Sky HD
(No Cinema, Kids or Multi room)
Old negotiated price with the usual inflationary increases = £41
Run on price = £82 I think
Was surprised to log in today (prior to visiting this thread to get the state of things in 2022), and see that my future bill is actually £63 pm not £82.
Looked back in my emails and I had an email near the end of May. "News from Sky - We've given you another 12 months of savings" with added comments "no new contract - no need to do anything"
Despite the email the "discount" is £19 pm not £15.... there is also £4 pm off Sky Sports HD not referenced here.
I can see from this thread I should still be doing a lot better than £63 but it is nice to know my contract is not immediately doubling.
Slightly ridiculously below my bill i am being offered to recontract and save...if I sign up for another 18 months I can have Sky Signature for £24 per month! which is, er, exactly what they've given me without a new contract.

Still got a week left on my TV contract, but doesn't look like they're bothered about keeping my custom 😅

just got my box to return the q bits - no more offers I have until 24/08 to send back - worth keeping them in case I get another offer ? Contact is cancelled and over .

My package was going from £65 to £111 in September plus they are increasing the package by £4.50 as notified via email. I have TV/sports/cinema/BB.
Got a call yesterday asking if I want Sky glass, after lots of hard sell I declined but he wouldn't discuss my current package price renewal. So I rang this morning expecting a long wait to get to speak to someone, straight through no messing.
The outcome after a good hours chat (eventually retentions had to come into play) I ended up paying £1 less than my current deal, so £64 for 18 months. Couldn't get the admin fee of £10 taken off. Looking at some of the deals here posted I could have tried harder, some don't mention BB in the figures, I think I did ok.0 -

Sky Signature at £20 a month (that's a £12 discount with an 18-month contract)
Sky Ultimate TV bundle at £6 a month (that's Netflix premium)
HD at £6 (that's a £2 discount)
UHD at £3 (that's a £1 Discount)
This brings your total to £35 a month.
Your offers will start today and a one-off admin fee of £10
After saying no because of the financial climate, and how that cost compares to getting Netflix premium and using Freeview, they offered another £3 off the Ultimate bundle, but that's still only £6 less than the new customer deal. Will see if they send anything better through over the remaining month, but might just go back to using my Apple TV instead of recording stuff.
Did get an email yesterday with the following offer:Sky Signature & Movies - £26/mo + "from" £10 admin fee and 18mo. commitment
Netflix +£5
HD +£4 (no mention of UHD which I previously had and said I wanted to keep)Not even using my Sky box at the moment, gone back to the Apple TV so not even sure I'll take any retention deals unless they really blow me away.
Just got my latest offer in the post, and it's identical to this one. Cancellation is 3 days away so looks like I won't be staying.
TV & Cinema - £26/mo, 18 month contract + £10 admin fee
Netflix +£5
Sports +£14
Multiscreen +£11
HD +£4

hello, its almost that time now for me to cancel and see what deal the offer, my existing deal runs out next month, this is what I have been paying below for the last 17 months, wondering what the latest deals are like for a comparable package if anyone has similar and just renewed, also whats the best number to phone to get to the retentions department, cheers

just spoke to someone at the retentions department and the closest he could do for me was the same package as above but for £95 on a rolling contract, I turned it down, he said he couldnt put my account into the 31 day cancellation period until the 25th of this month so will phone them back then to cancel0

I was paying about £104 a month for everything including broadband. Went up from £84 per month at the start of my deal.
I’ve now decided to cancel Sky altogether and seek alternative arrangements. Cancelled Sky
last week and got an offer today of Sports,Cinema and Signature for £37 for 18 months.
Going to try and stay strong and do without it but will miss pausing live tv which could be difficult 🙃🙃1 -
