Friend of mine was paying £137 cancelled 2 weeks ago, heard nothing so far.  Bit mad that Sky willing to lose that revenue, but I think he’s going to virgin sports bundle for £69
What I usually do is contact them in the final week and say something like, I've had a missed call off Sky and wondered if they we're going to make me offer before I leave. There is no harm to let it cancel too, shows your serious about leaving.
Yeah in the old days was easy just to log into your account and see an offer.  To be honest virgin is great price for sports as includes BT sport, don’t think sky can discount that much.  That’s £24 on its own. Think he’s switching.

    Hi All,

Coming to the end of an 18 month contract and more than happy to cancel my TV package unless I receive some serious discounts.

I believe there is something in the T&C's about returning your sky boxes and kit if you cancel?
    • Has anyone experienced this?
    • How long do you have to be cut off for before returning you kit?

For those interested, i am currently coming to the end of an 18month Sky Q contract. My existing deal is:

    Sky signature - £22
Ultimate TV add on - £2.50
Sky Sports complete pack - £13
    Sky Sports HD - £2
    Sky HD - £4
    Multi Screen - £10
    Total = £53.50

    Broadband & Talk = £19

You have up to 60 days to return the kit once Sky have issued you returns box or instructions on returning if you dont need packaging i believe.
I had to return mine last month after Sky went off in January. The only offers i had after it went off were dearer than before-they wanted more than 100% increase initially and eventually went down to 50% extra which i wasn’t prepared to pay. Missed it the first few days but wont be back now.

Their Live Chat is just terrible at the minute. It's taking almost a day to get connected to someone. I found it better using the Facebook Messenger service from their website.

Anyway, I cancelled yesterday as they couldn't offer me a similar deal to what other members had been offered previously. I'll ride it out to see if anything comes of it and if not I might just be stubborn and move over to BT. At a glance they seem to be cheaper and you get a lot of the Sky channels anyway.

Cancelled after being offered the following which included an additional £20 admin fee:
    signature £17 (£15 discount 18 month contract)
    Kids £2 (£4 discount for 18 months)                        £1 price increase on 2/6/2022
    HD £4 (£4 discount for 18 months)                         £1 price increase on 2/6/2022
    Cinema £9 (£10 discount 18 month contract)         £1 price increase on 2/6/2022
    Netflix £5 (£1 discount 18 month contract
£37 per month (£35 discount) increasing to £40 on 2nd June 2020 PLUS one off £20 admin fee
  • Has anyone managed to get a 12 month contract or is this a definite “No”?  I have been paying £45 for the basic sky, old box and a few HD channels. I was offered the same for £27 and said I would take that offer for 12 rather than 18 months but they kept saying it had to be 18 so I said I’d think about it.  I have looked at a Freeview recorder box and what channels are on offer, with W starting on Freeview soon there is probably only one Sky channel I’d miss. I can get the programme a different way, so won’t worry.  If anyone thinks a 12 month offer might be offered then I’d stay with Sky, if not then I will cancel.

12 month contracts are long gone. You'll only get 18 month contracts offered with "promotional deals/discounts"....at least now you get the discount for the whole 18 months. Previously they were trying to lure poeple in with 18 month contracts and 12 month discounts, then told to ring at 12 months to see what discount you'd get. (answer, a crap one as you had no bargaining tool with 6 months contract left)
  • Looks like I will be cancelling then.  They have not mentioned the £1 rise yet, so when they do inform me I will cancel.

  • Been on Live chat Best offer was £60
    Sky Signature at £20 a month (that's a £12 discount with an 18-month contract)
    HD at £4 (that's a £4 discount for 18 months)
UHD at £2 (that's a £2 Discount when having multiscreen)
    Complete Sports at £19 (that's a £13 discount with an 18-month contract)
Sky Q Multiscreen at £15 (with an 18-month contract)

so have cancelled see what they come back with now,
otherwise it's a freeview box and possibly NowTV seen on offer for £20 for 9 months

I’m at the end of my last sky contract where I was paying £59.50 for sky TV - inc. sports, movies, multi room and Netflix… so I was happy with our deal. My bill (now out of contract) is going up to £107 per month for the same services.

I rang up 2 weeks ago and the best they could do was £71. As that’s still a £11.50 per month increase, I wasn’t happy (£138 increase per year). I said I’d think and call back.

I called back today, and the best they could offer was £79 per month. It actually increased by a further £8!! (£234 a year increase). I don’t know what sky are playing at. People are entering one of the biggest crunches on disposable income, and are still hiking up prices by astronomical amounts.

I’ve put in my cancellation, I just cannot justify that amount on tv.

Oh, just to note.. the operator couldn’t match the previous quote either. Prices quotes apparently are only valid per call now. They cannot retrospectively apply the quote.
