Had email from Sky saying my deal was coming to end and that I could continue to save, and need do nothing... then it listed all the savings... not a word about current cost difference... just savings off their full inflated prices. Bit dodgy!

Did the same to me last year - I was paying £34pm (on a package that at list prices was £76pm) - their "savings" offer was £58pm. I ignored and negotiated - got the same for £36 pm (now £38 pm after April rises). So I'm nearly £400 better off over the 18 months when compared with their "generous" offer !!
  • I’m at the end of my last sky contract where I was paying £59.50 for sky TV - inc. sports, movies, multi room and Netflix… so I was happy with our deal. My bill (now out of contract) is going up to £107 per month for the same services.

I rang up 2 weeks ago and the best they could do was £71. As that’s still a £11.50 per month increase, I wasn’t happy (£138 increase per year). I said I’d think and call back.

I called back today, and the best they could offer was £79 per month. It actually increased by a further £8!! (£234 a year increase). I don’t know what sky are playing at. People are entering one of the biggest crunches on disposable income, and are still hiking up prices by astronomical amounts.

I’ve put in my cancellation, I just cannot justify that amount on tv.

Oh, just to note.. the operator couldn’t match the previous quote either. Prices quotes apparently are only valid per call now. They cannot retrospectively apply the quote.

Update to my previous post. I got an offer in the post today. £37 per month for sky signature, cinema and sports. Additional £5 for Netflix, £10 for multi room, £4 HD or £5 UHD. I have now signed up for another 18 months.
Wow, that's pretty good. I'm going to be paying £39.20 for SIX DAYS with Signature and BB alone! (I'm leaving Sky and my contract ends today, so I'm paying out-of-contract (punitive) fees until the end of the cancellation period.)

Nightmare yet again, thought I had arranged new 18mth contract online early April, expected the new price to show on upcoming bills - but they have increased for next month and June is even up to £86

Offer last month online regarding contract ending came up £66 on screen, when spoke Sky yesterday told I was mistaken on this quote and the cheapest they could do was £76

    Sky standard £21
    Sky HD £8
    Sky Sport Complete £25
    Sky Cinema £12
    Multiscreen £10
    Total £76 for 18 mths

Plus again I only have the word of agent - no actual proof of what was said.

After 22 years think I am at the end stage with Sky,  is there a telephone number to actually speak to UK team to complain - or retention number - yesterday insisted could not be £66

That's a rip off at £66 a month. You should be aiming less than £50 for that package.

Certainly should get that for less than £60pm - I'm on Signature plus Sports all in HD for £38pm - say  Cinema @ £8 (I was offered that price) and M/Room @ £12 gives £58pm max

I hope to try phone during the week...and will hang up unless speaking to UK.  Figure if I phone Sky in evening overseas will be in bed!!

It is clear that my account has no knowledge of any previous agreed price.

They simply are one of the worst companies for lack of transparency....they hold an award for getting you so frustrated hoping you'll accept anything.

You need to put in cancellation and wait for call back otherwise the price will be higher than what you pay currently

Just to mention early this month looked online at account as knew contract coming to end - it said across page contract ending soon and offer designed for you.  When populated the page said £55 then after month increase to £ 60plus -  we agreed to go ahead. I also did screen print.
Email confirmation came but only showed two elements signature and sport - just assumed give it a day or two and correct price will show. Looking online account to check on Friday noted none of this showed online account or interactive on Sky TV.  Hence the call and the very obnoxious call agent who basically denied any of what we said. It made me feel like a liar.

    Hi All,

Currently trying to contact sky via Facebook messenger to cancel my tv package and fibre due to my existing offer expiring.

They are telling me that I can only reach the retentions team at the moment by calling 03442 414141.

Previously I have used Facebook messenger and live chat before that.

How have other people been contacting the retentions team recently???

    Thanks I’m advance.

50% of everything is a lot more value to Sky than 100% of feckall.   That has always been my negotiating position and have never had to actually go dark in 13 years.
