Have (had) a very good Sky package, Ultra Fast BB, Complete tv package inc Sky Sports & Movies, multiroom, UHD. Didn't have BT Sports. Was paying £84pm after negotiations 18 months ago.
They tried to increase it to £120. Through a series of (painful and unnecessary) phone and online chat conversations, managed to get them to £115... £111... £107.50... £105.50. Always the "best they can do". They just keep saying that they're 'unable to match the previous package'. All I keep hearing is that my previous discounts were unprecedented. I don't really care - all I care about is that my bill is going to go up £21.50 a month = £258pa.

Anyway, after going through retentions, cancellations, etc and only getting down to £105.50, decided to go down the highstakes option and actually cancel:

Was expecting the flurry of 50% discount offers to come flooding in as on the above link. So far...NOTHING!!  :D:) Technically you can change your mind after you've cancelled for 31 days on the TV. But I've only got 14 days before broadband is cut off so I'm using that as my drop dead date. Virgin have offered my a pretty good whole package for £85. Only thing stopping me is the lack of Sky Atlantic (not even sure I even watch anything on there lol) and the lack of Sky Sports UHD (only HD boooo!), but with the added bonus of BT Sports (inc 4k). However the real thing putting me off is the upheaval. My entire entertainment system is plumbed in to a inbuilt TV unit and I just can't be bothered unwiring it all, sending the stuff back, and having to rewire it all with the new hardware.

    Am I missing something???

Will post any updates in my situation on here.

Went through that recently for my Dad. Took about 2 to 3 weeks after cancellation to receive a decent offer via post. Just make sure your marketing preferences allow contact.

You need to fully cancel and be without services for at least 1 month to get any half decent deal

What would you say half decent is? Even the new customer deals are 50% more than I currently pay so im not expecting Sky to offer much when I cancel

And that sums up the chaos that is Sky pricing - I was offered Kids for a £1 (didn't want) and I pay £2 for HD BUT £17 for Signature without Netflix !!
