    Offered this
  • Update.

    29 April 2022 - Cancelled Sky.

My bill was £35 for Sky Signature, Box Sets, Sky Sports F1 (HD included).

Was offered £29 for Sky Signature including Box Sets, Sky Sports F1 HD.
18 months offer for Sky Signature. (£17).
12 months offer for Sky Sports F1. (£12).

Cancel any time - not a recontract.

10 May 2022 - Received text from Sky asking me to contact them if I changed my mind about leaving - nothing offered in text.

11 May 2022 -  Received letter from Sky.
Sky TV including Box Sets and Sky Sports for £33 monthly for 18 months.
    (Plus £10 one-off fee.)
    18 month minimum contract.
Small print states price may change during contract. (Which means it WILL go up in price at least once.)

Offer valid until 19 May 2022.

This is worse for me than already offered by being £4 dearer, having to pay a £10 fee,  and needing to recontract for 18 months.

On the plus side if I was interested in Sky Sports other than F1, which I'm not, that may be appealing, but it isn't.

If I receive any other offers I will post here.

Do Sky Platinum VIP customers have a tick against the "sucker" field on the Sky database?

I would welcome a return to the old days when barter was not necessary.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Just thought id post this to see if it help anyone.

My bill was due to run out this month so last month i gave sky 31 days notice that i was going to cancel.

They said my bill was going up to £120 a month.

Went on live chat a couple of times and best they would do was £104 a month.

7th May they called me from 0800 761 3362 and offered me the above deal which i accepted.

This covers me until 7 NOV 2023 (Probably will go up 6 quid in april 2023)

As you can see i dont have kids or cinema.

Can probably hold out for slightly better deal.... even in 2022/23.

No point in quoting a price you got 17 months ago which ends next month!!

Hope this helps others barter a better deal.

To me still looks £10 a month too much

Cancellation was due tomorrow but I got a text to call for a new offer and went for it. Signature renewed at £14 (18m contract), rest rolling: Netflix £5, HD £4 + UHD £2 - £25 all in. The previous offer was £43 for these with multiroom, which I could have kept today for another £8 but decided against it.

I'd costed this against NOW £9.99 and Netflix £10.99 (£20.98) plus the one-off cost of a Freesat PVR at £229. At £4.02/m extra to Sky I would only have broken even with the Freesat box after 4 years 9 months.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences. It really helped me make my mind up.

    Update 23 May 2022.

Received letter today offering Sky Signature for £17 per month on 18 month contract.
Various packages add on at 50% discount whilst keeping Sky Signature.
A one off fee of £10 applies.

    Multiscreen £7.
    Cinema £9.
    Sports £16.
    Ultra HD £6.
    Kids £3.50.

(Ultra HD or Kids cancellable at any time with 31 days notice.
    Others 18 months contract renewed.)

Small print states prices may increase within contract - which means prices will increase at least once.

Not interested in this, but contacted Sky on Chat and asked if I could pay £17 per month for Sky Signature and add Sky Sports F1 at 50% discount ie £9 instead of £18 ?
This would make my monthly bill £26.
Sky Sports F1 would be in HD as standard - Sky Signature not in HD as standard.

    The answer was no.
Though for the first time Sky has offered Sky Signature in HD as standard without paying £8 extra - or £4 extra on 50% discount offer.

Best Sky could offer me was £17 for Sky Signature (in HD), plus Sky Sports (in HD as standard) for £16.
This would make my bill £33 per month.
That's £396 for the year plus the inevitable price increases.

That is still more than I want to pay.

I would have signed up for Sky Signature in HD plus F1 if Sky had agreed to £26 per month - but they said no to that.

So I will keep waiting to see if offered anything better.
    Will update here if so.

*At least it appears Sky appear to be dropping the charge for HD across all channels for some customers.

Put my cancellation request in about 25 days ago. Heard nothing apart from a few standard text messages. Then went to www.sky.com/reviewmyoptions and did the automated chat bot, was passed to a human agent and was offered this and accepted. Previously paying £88 which was due to go up to £105 had I not cancelled.

    Sky Signature at £15 a month (that's a £17 discount with an 18-month contract)
    HD at £4 (that's a £4 discount)
    UHD at £2 (that's a £2 Discount)
Complete Sports at £7 (that's a £25 discount with an 18-month contract when keeping Cinema)
Sky Cinema at £12 (that's a £7 discount with an 18-month contract when keeping Sports)
Sky Q Multiscreen at £7 (an £8 discount with an 18-month contract)

Sky Broadband Superfast, including line rental at £30.50 (that's a £5 discount with an 18-month contract)

This brings your total to £77.50 a month

Offers will start today and a one-off admin fee of £10 will be added to your next bill.
You'll get all the shows and channels you love in one place, at a great price.

Just an observation about the discounts; Still playing their silly games with individual deals - big discount on the Sports pack but virtually no discount on Cinema (nobody pays £19pm for that surely??)
I was offered Cinema for £5pm but Sports at £17pm on the last negotiation.!

I have signature , HD, sports, BT sport  and multiroom.  Since my contract expired my bill has gone from £75 to £92.  My offers on chat have been £86  then £80. I had a review your options message and got offered £72.  Then I had another message and was offered £69 .
On cut off day last week  I had another message to review.I said there was actually no point in BT sports as the moment as nothing on there for a couple of months So was offered £39 without BT , so was happy with that .
However they took the HD off as well.  I spent an hour on the phone speaking to 5 different people. I was offered HD for £3 month with £20 credit . I said no the HD at £3 month would cost me £54 . The verbal contract was just taking BT off and I'm not paying any extra . They said would call back the next day ., no call.
I sent another email two days ago saying if they can't call back or resolve this to cancel again . They've not even phoned to activate the cancellation, but have acknowledged the email.
I'm winging it a bit as don't know the best action really . If they forgot to add HD when working out a price  I feel they should honour it .  They make prices up to suit themselves anyway , so I'm sure they can lose the £3 month somewhere.
