Worth getting Sky to agree a new contract for the duration of the eighteen months to avoid the price rises in April and the following year no doubt.  If your bill still goes up then work your way through to cancellations and they will either give you a credit for the difference, £72 in my case or a combination of partial credit plus a further reduction in any part of the bill to make up the difference.
How are you cancelling if your in contract? Sky have price increases every April, its in the T&Cs. You can only cancel broadband for price increases, not TV???
  • My price was going up from £67 to £122 for sky q, signature, movies, uhd, multiroom and superfast. The best offer was £82, I declined and looked at sky glass, in the end I dropped movies as i only used it through lockdown and now have a rolling 28 day contract for:

    Signature £26
    Premium Netflix £8
    Uhd/dolby £5
    Multi £10
    Superfast £19
    Glass £13

So still paying £82 a month but with 28 day contract on all tv packages so can drop or add products when I want. And a new TV and free multiroom puk normally( £50)as a sky vip member.

Movies is staying for a month at £11 as I have an in contract discount and was told there is more content available on glass. Again, I  can drop it in 28 days so worth a look for me.

My broadband is in contract for another 6 months so will still have to haggle a new deal then but having the ability to drop tv packages and products like multiform if I'm not using them is definitely a good idea I think.

    Time will tell.

Only set it up this month so could technically cancel if I wanted to but if you make sure it is in your notes etc from previous conversations then they have to honour the contract.  If you state this then it is a lot easier for retentions to honour the deal rather than search through recordings etc.

No, all through the chat page now, for which they now keep records of the chat.

Was looking to get Sky Glass a couple of weeks ago, passed the credit check but my computer crashed before I could finalise the order. Went online this morning to do it & it now says I am ineligible to buy it!
  • I was coming up end of contract. Rang up to cancel. They offered me 46 for sig, kids, cinema, multiscreen, ultimate, uhd. (Same as current contract.) We aren't watching a lot of Sky so proceeded to cancel.

Got a retention call yesterday. Said they could do a great deal - offered me 50 for the above! laughed and said proceed with cancellation.

They called back a few hours later. Said "you don't need multiscreen as sky go extra will allow you to access recordings on your q box from another screen"  They offered 35 for the above without multiscreen. Agreed on the provision I could use Xbox sky go like a mini to watch live tv and recordings on Q. Turned out that wasn't the case when I tested that night. The Sky TV app on Xbox just allows some live tv channels and is not that great.

Checked my bill this morning. Totally messed up. Intead the of the 35 i was offered, next months bill was 90 and future months 60! Called up and said not happy about mess up of bills and that was told Sky go would be as good as multiscreen for accessing q recordings etc He apologised for the wrong info given and gave the above package with multiscreen for 34. Breakdown as follows:

    sig 12
    Sky kids free
    Sky hd free
    uhd free
    Cinema 6
    Ultimate 5
    Multiscreen 11

    34 total

  • Just had my price increase through. Sky tried to add (amongst other increases) £2 to the UHD cost. I had negotiated it as ‘free’ ie cost £4 with £4 discount when I haggled this years price. The cost was still shown as £4 but the discount was reduced to £2! Contacted Sky and informed them they had breached contract and this was not a price rise and was therefore not covered in their T&C’s. They agreed, but could not reapply the discount but instead have given a one off payment covering this cost for the remainder of the contract period. Maybe worth checking as I am sure I am not the only one that Sky has tried this on with!!!
  • If you cancel, let the cancellation actually happen, then take a 'come back' deal a few days after being disconnected, do you lose your VIP length of service? (Does it give any real benefits anyway?)

I`m in exactly the same situation Jane, did u get them to agree to reducing the UHD element of ur deal only or did they agree to no increase in your package overall? TIA
