Was on Sky Signature for 16 pounds a month and contract ending in Feb. Got email that I can keep all discounts without contract but the price went up to 21 per month - turns out 'In Contract' discount was not being applied. Called up to cancel and the best offered by retention was 24 per month which I was senseless considering 21 without contract. Cancelllation requested couple of days back - got an email to keep same signature package for 16. Happily accepted new 18m contract at 16 a month.
Is that on Sky Q or the old Sky+ box?

Nine days before cancellation and not much luck getting anywhere near some of the lowest prices reported on here. Best offer via letter and then eventually getting through to the “Winback pending cancellation team”. For 18 months:
    Signature £18
    Sports £14
    HD £3
Ultimate £5 (but not watching much Netflix so will drop it)
And would prefer to keep rolling over BT Sport at the extortionate £27 rather than get it tied into a contract.
Also for 12 months, BB Superfast £21 plus £12 international calls.

In the usual dilemma of letting it cancel and losing our recordings to hope for a better offer or caving in next week. This whole palaver of haggling is a mad way of doing business and so time-consuming - seeing the other posts on here is an encouragement so thank you forumites for taking the time!
Let it cancel down then contact them 1 day after it’s completely switched off should get better offer

Got cut off sky broadband and sky tv 3 days, was hoping to get a great comeback deal, but sky aren’t like they used to be, it’s hard work these days to haggle with them, I tried every trick in the book.
Anyway was getting so much stick from the wife and 3 kids, so had to bite the bullet and re-sign up with them, especially for having no broadband.
    Best I could get was:
    Signature 16
    HD 3
    Sky Sports 12
    Super Fast BB 25
    so £56 per month total.
Plus no setup/admin fees or carriage fees for the new router.
I dropped BT sport to keep costs down.
Arsenal aren’t in Europe these days, so it doesn’t matter too much! 😢
But worst thing is they can’t reconnect the broadband for 3 weeks, as it was fully cancelled and the line is in a locked status, they have to start again with openreach and now have to run a fibre line straight into the house.
so now off to buy a 4G router with a giff gaff unlimited data sim for the month to keep us going til the re-connection date.
so the moral of the story is don’t get fully cut off to try and get a good deal, it doesn’t seem to make a difference and you could be stuck without broadband for 3 Weeks!!
  • Signature, Ultimate TV netflix, Sky cinema, MULTI screen, Sky Kids, HD, UHD - got all this for £37 not sure how good a deal this is plus a another free sky minibox. I had 4 sim only contracts and broadband and telephony with sky but left sky for close to half price deals elsewhere which is currently working great. I did explain to Sky I did not want to change but they were not interested. With the TV package again  had given my 1 month notice and my had left Sky for a few days. But thought before I sign up for Netflix and set up the freeview channels should give them one last call. It appears the win back team were able to help.

Similar here, on £20 per month for sky signature and hd but when I look at the future bills its showing £25. Went to messenger, was offered finally £19 per month for 18 months but they added £20 as admin fees. Going to be be adamant this time to not to pay the admin fees. My contract is ending on 14th march so will call again on 14th feb and try one last time if they agree

The moral of the story is, separate your b/band from the TV contract when negotiating. Always a danger when cancelling b/band that you will lose connection for an unknown period whereas the TV contract can be "switched back on" in a matter of hours or better. The price that you have achieved for "superfast" broadband can be bettered with other ISPs.
  • "so the moral of the story is don’t get fully cut off to try and get a good deal, it doesn’t seem to make a difference and you could be stuck without broadband for 3 Weeks!!"

I think the moral of the story is don't get tv and broadband in one package from one supplier. Puts you in much weaker position to negotiate
  • We were on Sky + with sky sports, cinema and Sky Go and paying £99 per month. My husband had been a customer on the same package for 19 years so I did a bit of investigating and found if I took on our account as a new customer then I could get. Sky Q, Sky Sports and Sky Go for £42 per month (we dropped the cinema as we never watch the films). Following the advice on here my husband called them and stuck with it and eventually got the price dropped to £37 a month - a massive saving of £67 a month or £744 a year!!!

But you used to get a much better deal if you took tv and broadband with the same provider.

Very true. No longer the case, have a look at MSE broadband deals and switch every year. Fibre from approx £13/14pcm.
