Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Hi rang up but it does really depend on which advisor you get and whether they are prepared to do all the legwork and speak to each section boss to authorise special deals rather than just applying the offers on their screen.ItsSimonT said:
Did you get this offer on Live Chat, did you call them, or did they call you, please? Have tried a few people but they're insistent that these offers do not exist and there are no other departments they can talk toAJJ2205 said:
Wednesday this week, good luckItsSimonT said:
Thanks, whilst I am not a broadband customer, will try to aim for prices closer to yours. Hopefully can get a good employee.AJJ2205 said:
Hi sorry should have been ultimate tv add on for £5 as you rightly say.ItsSimonT said:
You have put "ultra hd - £5" and then further down ultra hd free, can I presume your £5 was for Ultimate TV (Netflix)? When did you sign this deal please? And with your broadband, is the talk package payg?AJJ2205 said:Ended up going around the houses but if you do get the right SKY employee who will ring around departments to get you all the offers rather than just the ones on their screen then it does pay off
signature - £11
sports - £4
ultra hd - £5
Cinema - £9
Kids - £1
sports hd - £2
Sky hd - £3
ultra hd- free
multiscreen - £8
Ultrafast bb & talk - £29
So £43 for SKY and £29 for ultrafast broadband makes £72 in total.
Also found out that it is actually easier for them to access more (and better) deals whilst you are still in contract as actually becoming a new customer restricts their options. Main point is that you need the right member of the retentions department who will put in the time and effort to ring around their bosses to get every deal.
Broadband and Talk
SKY WiFi - Free
SKY Talk Internet Calls - Free
SKY Pay as you Talk - Free
SKY Broadband Ultrafast 1 - £29
When did you agree your deal?
Thank you
Good luck and hope you are successful

Thank you, do you know what number you called on by any chance? As they have a few numbers for their retentions teamsAJJ2205 said:

0333 759 4840 / 4454 from memory, just ask to get through to the redemption department (loyalty experts is another phrase they use) and hopefully you will get someone who plays ball. Good luckItsSimonT said:

Never a dull moment - latest update, even though I recontracted last week due to this new price hike my prices were in scope of going up. Went back and cancelled the whole service as it's ridiculous to negotiate again in 5 days after signing a new contract. Might have made sense after a year or so - but yes going back to fire stick and other options. Bye bye sky after 9 yearsvini_1983 said:
`just to update, finally got it to £19 and they waived the £10 admin fees. Pretty happy as generally sky quality and service is very good and £1 less than what i was paying now so satsified with it.vini_1983 said:
Similar here, on £20 per month for sky signature and hd but when I look at the future bills its showing £25. Went to messenger, was offered finally £19 per month for 18 months but they added £20 as admin fees. Going to be be adamant this time to not to pay the admin fees. My contract is ending on 14th march so will call again on 14th feb and try one last time if they agreeftb_21 said:Was on Sky Signature for 16 pounds a month and contract ending in Feb. Got email that I can keep all discounts without contract but the price went up to 21 per month - turns out 'In Contract' discount was not being applied. Called up to cancel and the best offered by retention was 24 per month which I was senseless considering 21 without contract. Cancelllation requested couple of days back - got an email to keep same signature package for 16. Happily accepted new 18m contract at 16 a month.1 -
haha good, stick it to them. That is ridiculous that you just renewed and now going to pay their extra. Should be a rule it can't go up in the same year so if you took a contract out in March 2021 only in Apr 2022 can you get charged more.vini_1983 said:

So just done the usual dance with sky after my current 18 month contract came up for renewal. Currently the package is for SkyQ, signature, cinema and hd for £27 pm.I went on chat a week ago and cancelled after the best deal they could offer was £29 for another 18 months.Phoned them today and managed to get an offer for the same package for £24pm (can’t remember exact breakdown but hd was free once “the manager” applied a £3 hd discount). “Unofficially” the agent said there will be a £1 price rise in April on Signature but no rise on Cinema. They will also waive the £20 admin fee.Decided to accept as this seemed reasonable and I’m not sure the effort to knock off another £1-2 would have been worth it or been possible.0

Price breakdown email has arrived. It’s £19 for signature, £5 cinema and hd is free.chuckie8857 said:So just done the usual dance with sky after my current 18 month contract came up for renewal. Warning, Be very alert when you get your new amazing sky package offer!
I was happy with the deal they finally agreed to a few weeks ago after a lot of haggling,
but when i got my first bill it wasn't what was agreed!
I then also looked at my future bills when logged into my sky account online and they were too much as well!
Phoned them up to complain and yes they hadn't applied the offers as agreed.
Luckily all was detailed in the notes they keep, so now it has all been rectified.
But do check your bills and future bills, sky will try their luck if they can!!1 -
Don't think they "try their luck" - it's more a function of this ludicrous system of individual discounts given on negotiation.Kodi32 said:

A few years ago, I ended up with a complaint going to the CEO's office ,Executive Complaints, and the woman I spoke with ,couldn't even understand what had been done ,so to solve ,had to give me a one off cash credit to balance out the plusses and minuses!!2 -
Worth getting Sky to agree a new contract for the duration of the eighteen months to avoid the price rises in April and the following year no doubt. If your bill still goes up then work your way through to cancellations and they will either give you a credit for the difference, £72 in my case or a combination of partial credit plus a further reduction in any part of the bill to make up the difference.0
