Another obscure question here - if you let it all cancel, do they always send 'come back' offers, and if so, how many days are they valid for? (I'm thinking of letting ours disconnect the day we go for a 2-week holiday, hoping that I will come back to a nice 'come back' offer on our return...)0

Hmmm that's interesting, so two very recent scenarios where people didn't get much / anything from 'comeback'. Strange how that bit seems so random...0

Strange how that bit seems so random...I have wondered whether after a certain amount of offers (or time subscribed on offers) they're content to take a more hardball approach. I had one retention call while I was in my cancellation period, which wasn't a great offer, and the agent said at the time I wouldn't be getting a better one.Fortunately, I've not really been missing Sky. I've got Prime Video, Netflix and a pretty good deal on BT Sport. I've also been dipping in and out of some of the Prime Video addon channels.Got an offer recently for Sky Cinema on Now TV too - £1 a month for 2 months plus £5 extra for boost - so Sky Cinema for two months for £12 total isn't too bad and then I'll cancel that. She would always like to say,

My Sky went off early january and all i have received are two come back letters with prices that were higher than they offered during live chat. After over fourteen years i thought i would get better than an offer that was a 50% increase from last contract price but no. Cant say i miss it now and certainly did not want to pay huge increase. Wont be back1

If it helps anyone, this is what i eventually agreed to
I already have a sky q 2tb box and 1 multiroom
sky signature
sky sports (in HD)
Multiroom
Kids
HD and Ultra HD
(bascially full package without cinema or "ultimate" as I already have netflix)
Came to £51 a month (including price rise from april)
I had been completely disconnected for about 3 weeks. (first time i let it disconnect for more than 24hrs!) To be honest, it was around about the same ballpark figures as I was getting whilst in cancellation period. Had been quoted from £53 to 57 depending on who i spoke to (would be approx £3 more after price rise i guess)
I received multiple phone calls, but not with great offers. I received two"offers" in the post, which weren't particularly great.
This is slightly more than i was paying before, but the wife wanted our multiroom back and running again for the kids, as we don't have an aerial in the house!0 -
Sorry if this has already been covered but if you let the cancellation run it's course, does the planner retain your recordings should you rejoin? Thanks.0

Thanks. On Sky+HD, yes, all your planner recordings will remain but be inaccessible. Anything downloaded from On-Demand will also remain until its expiry date.I'm not sure whether a Sky Q box does the same, but as you're required to return them, I imagine it would only matter if you took a retention offer/restarted your subscription before you sent the box back.
