Thanks Lambyr, just to clarify my planner recordings would become accessible were I to let my contract lapse and then rejoin Sky?Lambyr said:cwmbrancrow said:Sorry if this has already been covered but if you let the cancellation run it's course, does the planner retain your recordings should you rejoin? Thanks. On Sky+HD, yes, all your planner recordings will remain but be inaccessible. Anything downloaded from On-Demand will also remain until its expiry date.I'm not sure whether a Sky Q box does the same, but as you're required to return them, I imagine it would only matter if you took a retention offer/restarted your subscription before you sent the box back.0 -
That's certainly what numerous people have said on here over the last couple of years that I've been keeping an eye out for answers to this very question, including numerous people who have said it with first hand experience, i.e. they were disconnected, reconnected again a few days / weeks later, and were then able once again to access all their old recordings.cwmbrancrow said:

My bigger concern is that in the last couple of pages there are several people saying either that they didn't get comeback offers after disconnecting, or they got offers that were inferior to the ones offered during the 31 day cancellation period - that's not encouraging...

They are certainly getting more determined to get rid of the "old" SD/HD boxes and replace with Sky Q .Had a phone call yesterday asking me why I hadn't taken up their emailed offer of a "free" Q box and install ! I explained that I had a discounted deal until Jan 23 and didn't want to start a new contract but she didn't seem interested in offering me anything.scarletjim said:cwmbrancrow said:

I suspect that as the fully returnable Q equipment gets more common ,then deals are going to be worse and need considerable determination to get.2 -
So long as you haven’t returned your equipment the sky a box retains all your previous recordings after disconnecting an reconnecting.cwmbrancrow said:Sorry if this has already been covered but if you let the cancellation run it's course, does the planner retain your recordings should you rejoin? Thanks.
if there are any series links for shows that air when you are disconnected they will appear as “failed recordings” once you have reconnected.
basically everything will remain as you left it. Hope That helps2 -
Thank you all for your help and advice. Much appreciated.0

Friend of mine was paying £137 cancelled 2 weeks ago, heard nothing so far. Bit mad that Sky willing to lose that revenue, but I think he’s going to virgin sports bundle for £691

Yep, that's correct.cwmbrancrow said:Thanks Lambyr, just to clarify my planner recordings would become accessible were I to let my contract lapse and then rejoin Sky?brewerdave said:They are certainly getting more determined to get rid of the "old" SD/HD boxes and replace with Sky Q .Had a phone call yesterday asking me why I hadn't taken up their emailed offer of a "free" Q box and install ! I suspect that as the fully returnable Q equipment gets more common ,then deals are going to be worse and need considerable determination to get.The last time I spoke with Sky, they did try and push Sky Q at me yet again but I told them I wasn't interested in Sky Q. I assume that my three or four rejections of Sky Q may have been recorded and that also might be a factor in why they've made no comeback offer to me.Course, it's the whole 'return' thing which is the specific reason I'm not interested in Sky Q. I just can't be bothered with the aggravation of getting a new installation, and then having to waste my own time repackaging and returning boxes in 18 months time. She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0 -
Just come off my fixed rate, and they now want £101, is it best to phone or use the chat facility to see if you can get a better price?0

Hi All,
Coming to the end of an 18 month contract and more than happy to cancel my TV package unless I receive some serious discounts.
I believe there is something in the T&C's about returning your sky boxes and kit if you cancel?- Has anyone experienced this?
- How long do you have to be cut off for before returning you kit?
For those interested, i am currently coming to the end of an 18month Sky Q contract. My existing deal is:
Sky signature - £22
Ultimate TV add on - £2.50
Sky Sports complete pack - £13
Sky Sports HD - £2
Sky HD - £4
Multi Screen - £10
Total = £53.50
Broadband & Talk = £19

What I usually do is contact them in the final week and say something like, I've had a missed call off Sky and wondered if they we're going to make me offer before I leave. There is no harm to let it cancel too, shows your serious about leaving.PZ19 said:Friend of mine was paying £137 cancelled 2 weeks ago, heard nothing so far.
