They were the top of there league a few years back.
I just looked at our package and what is Multiscreen - I thought that was now signature . Worst is he will not talk to them as he gets so worked up at there stalling tactics
can I ask do you think phone or online chat gets best results.
RE: Chats / calls, I normally start with chat, just to get my first attempt on their system, and I don't think that gives any different result to a call. After that, you need to speak to retentions / loyalty team or whatever they call it. Now I know with BT that they recently couldn't connect me to that team via chat, I had to call - don't know if someone can confirm if that's the same for Sky?
Btw, with regard to getting "worked up at their stalling tactics", those tactics are actually beneficial for those of us prepared to make an effort and jump through the hoops (pretty much just multiple chats / calls) to get the best deal. If Sky gave everyone the best deal as soon as they asked for it, that would mean lots more people getting the best deal, and therefore the average price of that best deal would be significantly higher than it is now. Sky (and other providers) can only offer these cheaper retentions deals because there are still relatively few people who are prepared to make the effort to get them. If anyone doesn't want the hassle, they don't have to endure it - just take whatever deal is offered, knowing that it won't be anywhere near the best deal.0 -

Not sure what your thoughts are?Yes I did actually cancel which is the odd thing and I had my deactivation date (though it was in a couple of weeks time) . I have never been offered anything like Sports for sub £10 which makes me so frustrated! Thanks again

I think it’s not a bad deal. After I cancelled and after my cancellation date. I was offered £24 for ultimate HD (signature and Netflix HD only), then £12 for sports, £10 multiroom and £4 for UHD. So would have been £50, minus £9 for Netflix = £41 for your deal. They also offered cinema for £5.I only had ultimate HD before, not sports, not sure if that would have changed their offer. I decided to quit, got a Roku soundbar and no great loss so far. Interface of Sky Q is definitely best out there, but for me not work extra £180 / year - realised I only really watched 3 shows on Sky this year, and in future can either get a month Now TV sub to watch them or buy them through Apple TV…1 -

It's clear that there are other factors we have no sight of - targets, quotas, different levels of authorisation etc, as some people on here get truly incredible deals, but others can't match them whatever tactics they employ. For me that's fine - the main 'work' gets a huge discount on what you'd pay if you made no effort at all - then those really incredible deals are only marginally better when you look at the big picture of what you and I end up paying compared to your original renewal price.

Cancelled two weeks ago and still heard nothing. Been with Sky 9 years, but they were really playing hardball regarding discounts. Approaching squeaky bum time!
Apologies for the obvious question, but where can you find live chat on the Sky website? Does it just kick in during a virtual assistant chat?

Hi all,
Sky customer of 11 years here and Sky VIP. Was paying £112 with discounts previously for basically everything available. The offers ended and full price of package was then £157. Best offer was £119 so I cancelled 11 days ago. No news from Sky but then got the text saying its not too late to come back...
Joined an online chat today and was offered the following -
Sky Signature at £18 a month (that's a £13 discount with an 18-month contract)
Sky Ultimate Netflix at £6 a month
Kids at £1 (that's a £4 discount)
HD at £3 (that's a £4 discount)
Complete Sports at £6 (that's a £26 discount with an 18-month contract)
Cinema at £11 (that's a £8 discount when keeping Sports/with an 18-month contract)
Sky Q Multiscreen at £10 (with an 18-month contract)
Ultra HD £4
Sky Broadband Superfast including line rental, at £28.00 (that's a £5 discount with an 18-month contract)
That brings total to £87.00 a month, saving £1170 over the 18 months.
They then offered to waive the admin fee of £10 and reduce package to £83.
Wouldn't budge any further on that.
Wondering if that's the best I'm going to get for essentially everything possible?
I used to have international talk extra for £15 which I have now dropped as well as WiFi boost which was £5. So if you add those to my offer of £83 it means price of £103. Which is not a huge saving over what I was paying before at £112.
Any thoughts welcome on whether its worth holding out longer?0 -
