If I haggle a new deal this week will the April price changes still apply ?0
-
Finally got offered something today, maybe could have gotten it cheaper if I had pushed more, but was happy enough to accept, its less than I'm paying now anyway and I get Netflix UHD included which saves a lot with the new pricing.
Sky Signature £17
Ultimate TV £5
Sky Sports + Cinema (incl Sports HD) £15
HD £3
Multiscreen £8.50
UHD Free
That comes to £48.50 but I think not quite priced yet in future bills in the system as final price post price increase was £51.50, so there is £3 missing somewhere.
Also had the usual £20 admin fee but they credited half of it at least0 -

Best I can get out of them after much haggling is (post April price rise):
Sky Signature at £19 a month (that's a £12 discount with an 18-month contract)
Sky Ultimate TV bundle at £5 a month (that's a £1 discount with an 18-month contract)
HD at £5 (that's a £2 discount)
UHD at £4 a month.
Complete Sports at £20 (that's a £14 discount with an 18-month contract)

HD at £5 is seen as a discount, Sky are having a laugh in this day and age, would never pay more than a pound or two at most which is what I negotiated last week (£1 after first offering it at £2) which If they declined would of seriously cancelled, Sky Signature at £19 is just ok, £17 (which is what I got) or even less £13-£15 are achievable with patience and persistance which this time I couldn't be bothered. Sports at £20, again is on the expensive side, mydeal page offered it at £14 to me last week, but as I don't need Sports, didn't even ask what they were offering on retention call.0

I know right! You can get HD via freeview but Sky insist on still charging £5 a month for it. It is a con and one of the reasons I hate being with them. The other one being the 18monthly haggle to avoid being completely ripped off. I've not moved my broadband to Vodafone as they were £6 a month cheaper, now just trying to decide if I really need to be paying an extra £36 a month for Sky over and above what we would be paying for Netflix!0

My Sky Deal is coming to an end on 20th March, when I originally signed up to my current deal I was paying £47 month on an 18 month contract. I have been with Sky almost 20 years and 18 months ago I was talked into moving over to Sky Q. Last years annual price increase put the price up to £51 month. I get my Broadband and BT sports through BT at a cost of £19.99 for Broadband and £14 for BT Sports through my sky box. My current Sky package is:-
- Entertainment £17
- Box Sets £ 1
- Sport £15
- Cinema £ 5
- Sport HD £ 2
- HD £ 2
- Multiscreen £9
- Sky Go Free
- 3D Free
- UHD Free with Q
We have recently had Virgin laid in our road so I called them for a price and they offered me £79 for everything and also offered free phone calls on top.
I then contacted BT to see if there would be any penalties for leaving my contract early and unfortunately there were. However when I explained why I was thinking of cancelling they offered me an even better deal, see below:-- Big Sport £20 (This includes all 4 BT sports channels, all 11 Sky sports channels a youview UHD recordable tv box)
- Now TV Entertainment £9.99 (includes main Sky channels eg One, Atlantic and Witness)
- Sky Cinema £11.99 (all Sky cinema channels)
- Additional Youview Box £5 (to replace Sky multiroom)
- HD £5 (all channels)
- My broadband £19.99 (Fibre)
I then phoned Sky to see if they could offer me a better deal, and was offered £61.50 but added to my BT costs would still come to a total of £95.49 I explained this was too much and gave my notice to cancel. I was then passed to Sky retention department and offered £57.50 for my current Sky package but I still pointed out that this comes to a total of £91.49 with my BT element so I gave notice to cancel.
3 days later I received a phone call from Sky offering me my current package for £53 (this includes the April price increase) but again I turned this down as I pointed out that I would be paying £15 a month more than the deal with BT and over an 18 month contract that would be £270.
I have not placed my order with BT yet as they are holding my offer for a month whilst my Sky contract runs down and they only need a few days notice to send out the two youview boxes.
All of the Sky deals that I have been offered are 18 months, whereas the BT deal is 24 months for my Big Sport and Broadband but with the option of switching my Cinema, Entertainment and HD on and off monthly.
Before committing to the BT offer, I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has been down this route and what their experiences of BT tv (using Now TV) are? I would have been happy to pay slightly more to Sky to save having to change all of my set ups but £15 a month is far too much!

Does sky.com/mydeal no longer work? I cancelled a couple of days ago now and if I go to the URL I'm just greeted with an error page!0
