Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

All the info in this thread has been really helpful. I'm moving house in March, already out of contract for my broadband and my Sky TV finished on the 12th of March.
Called them to cancel a few days ago, they offered me a price similar to what they offer new customers which isn't bad, however knowing I'd get a better deal if I canceled I gave my notice yesterday.
Today on the mydeals page I have:
Sky Signature: 17
Ultimate: 6
HD: 1
Better than what they offered pre-cancellation, but I'm wondering:
1. Am I not getting any broadband quote? Or does the mydeals page only show Sky TV deals?
2. I'm getting a 4k TV so keen on having the ultra HD pack instead of the HD pack, however it's not an option on the page. Have you been able to customise what is offered on the page? Is my best bet to wait longer or just give them a call?
Also I only got access to this page because I knew the URL, however it hasn't appeared anywhere in my account. Haven't received an email either. I wonder if it's still being generated and whether I'll get more options later on.
Personally I'd prefer to keep my Sky TV instead of going for Now TV (which I've had in the past - still prefer Sky TV)
Thanks!
My advice would be wait for them to call you about your cancellation - this took a week in my case though I did not wait quite that long.
My timetable was
Day 1 (am) - cancel via phone. Did not accept their "best offer" to stay over the phone.
Day 7 - did a text chat about my cancellation initiated by me to try and get a better deal. the offer was still worse than "my deals"
Day 7 (evening) - accepted My deal
Day 8 (early afternoon) got a call from Sky to discuss my cancellation. the guy was oblivious to me having accepted the deal the day before but obviously I told him i had signed up again.
Maybe the call on day 8 was my best opportunity to negotiate a good deal and may have been more fruitful than the calls/text chats on days 1 and 7?
Beyond that if anyone accepts "my deal" make sure you take screenshots of each page. I was offered Signature £19, Ultimate TV £6 (which was actually £24 when applied together). After accepting they updated my account to show £24 for Signature and £5 extra for Ultimate TV. I had a screenshot of step 2 of "my deals" and they honoured it after I sent them the screenshot (actually did this as part of Sky's call on day 8) but they gave me reason to think they might not have done without proof.0 -

Looks like it's possible to get a better deal by cancelling vs. a new customer deal, so giving that a try.JJ_Egan said:Why re contract at this address if you are moving home ?Take out a new contract at new home and you are a new customer .1 -

Ok so I have a mydeal offer - but its missing a few options that I currently have (multiroom, UHD). Does anyone know if the call centre can see these deals if i call up and get them to honour the deal and add the extra stuff?0

Next house is FTTC so about 68, can go up to 80 apparently (doubt it'll ever hit that). Really desperate to move since it'll be a considerable upgrade!0 -

My deal is up at the beginning of February. I rang last week and pressed the number for cancellation. In fact, that was what we intended unless a good deal was offered. I was connected immediately which surprised me and I spoke to a lovely Scottish lady. She said she would look to save me money and after discussion we accepted £39 per month for 18 months for exactly what we have now for which we had been paying £51.
The £10 admin fee was unavoidable though. So, we have Signature, super fast broadband and free anytime calls. We are not interested in sport and we have Netflix and Amazon Prime already. Sky Q was suggested and we might go for that in the future but in the present climate, we prefer to minimise any ‘visitors’.0 -
