i've gone back to them again to see if i can get a better offer but the advisor said that offer was the best they had seen (but then they always say that!!)
still got 5 days until it cancels down so might try another haggle but i'm starting to think i'll probably have to accept as that's as good as it's going to get....
  • I’ve been keeping an eye on this thread. For years I’ve been saying I’m going to cancel Sky and each time I’ve negotiated a half price deal and signed up for another 18 months. I hardly watch any premium channels and those I do are available on Now TV which I can just dip in and out of month to month. I have an Amazon Fire TV stick and can catch up on programmes there.
I contacted Sky on chat a few weeks ago to cancel. I was offered a free Sky Q box (I’ve had Sky+ for years) and Signature for £15. I said thanks but no, I really do want to cancel.

The offer showing in my account now is Signature for £13, presumably with no Sky Q box which I’m not really bothered about anyway.

this week I’ve been deliberately using ITV Hub and My5 apps on my firestick just to see how it is. The number of adverts you have to endure is ridiculous, especially if by the time the programme starts you realise you selected the wrong episode! Then you have to go through it all over again.

Not only that but I often start watching programmes I’m recording before they’ve finished. I won’t be able to do that anymore. I’ll have to wait for them on catch up. I won’t be able to pause or rewind live TV either.

I knew all of this, but perhaps took the convenience of it all for granted. I really am loathe to pay for channels and content that is free just to avoid some inconvenience but I’m seriously reconsidering my cancellation now!  :D

I have cancelled Sky again within the 31 days cut off. Service ends tomorrow.

in my come back to Sky online account they are offering Signature at £13pcm SD even before I’m out of contract this time.

if you can be bothered £13 is achievable. FYI Sky sports for £12pcm HD. HD add on for Signature £2.

Have you considered getting a Freesat recorder?  You can fast forward through the adverts then!

To answer my own question I messaged the cancellation team and retained the same 18 month deal I was currently on.

To confirm i called SKY and somehow got this amazing deal. I believe they are still taking calls so i suggest you call them and get upgraded if you are on SKY,

Full package, Signature, Movies, Sports, Boxsets, HD, ULTRA HD, Netflix premium, Kids, multi rooms, One SKY Q and two mini boxes for £57 a month. Locked in for 18 months.

Absolutely chuffed i got this price and to be honest, a bit shocked. I suggest you call them

BTW - Ultra HD is FREE for anyone who has multi boxes with SKY Q. So go ahead and get it if you dont already.

Yep. I’ve been looking at them, but thought I’d wait and see how I get on. I’ve got used to having to sit through some ads now. If it gets too annoying I’ll get a Freesat recorder but I am so glad I managed to not be tempted to keep Sky.
