Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Just trying to be ready in case the engineer does have network issues. Ive checked and the wifi speed Im getting next to the TV is 50mb, which seems pretty good - but is the connection issues from BT Broadband to Sky Q not just about speed ? We dont have a phone socket in the same room as the TV and it would be a pain to run one. Ive seen people recommend these homesockets that allow you to send a signal direct from the router via a power socket.0

I must be rubbish at haggling! My Sky broadband,TV & phone package contract ends in a few weeks. I phoned to haggle and was told that If i paid £5 more per month i would get slower bb & lose the TV package altogether! So I cancelled the phone and BB, contemplated just the TV deal and asked for the basic TV deal (£16) and requested only sky sports action as an add on offering them £25 per month for a yr instead of the £33 it costs, they told me to cancel and look elsewhere!!0

Be careful actually cancelling the BB/phone as they can simply cut you off. You would have been better initiating a switch with whoever you want to switch to, especially if you want to keep the same number.2 -
I have switched to BT already, but was hoping they'd at least offer me some reduction😬0

I am just approaching the end of my contract where I am paying £49 a month for:
Entertainment - £12
Ultimate on Demand - £3
Kids - £1
Complete Sports - £13
Cinema - £11
Sports HD - Free
HD - £2
Multiscreen - £7 (for 1 mini box)
The retentions team said the best they could do for the same package (with the new Sky Signature) would be £57.50 on an 18 month contract:
Signature - £15
Netflix - £6
Kids - £1
Complete Sports HD - £18
Cinema - £8
UHD - Free
HD - £3
Multiscreen - £8.50 (for 1 mini box)
So I went ahead with the cancellation notice and appear to have got a worse offer via the my deal link £47 (without multiscreen):
Signature - £21
Netflix - £4
Kids - £2
Sports and Cinema - £17 (when taken together)
UHD - £2
HD - £1
Multiscreen - No option given on the my deal page
Any advice on how to proceed?0 -
Sky signature £17
ultimate £4
cinema £8
HD 3.50
UHD £4
£36.500 -
Wait them out - better offers may appear. Even if they don't, you can accept the earlier offer up to the final day of notice if you can't stand to be without for the future but many (if not all) ex customers get good deals offered in the first few weeks after switch off.

Been with Sky over 20 years was on £70 at renewal and after two calls to Retention Team got the following deal:
£50 p/m
Sky Q (2 boxes) + Sky Sports HD + Sky Signature + Kids + Multi room:
18 month contract
Hope this helps anyone in similar position0 -
decided decided to remove my £4 UHD offer as cannot see much different between that and HD. Is a difference when watching 4K through YouTube/Netflix (not through sky q box)
anyone noticed the same ?0
