Just to report back, Im getting Sky Q installed on Wednesday. So hopefully I will be back on here singing its praises (and not how to fix any connection issues ! ). I managed to haggle a price of about £45 a month, including UHD , Sports, Cinema and multiroom.  I didnt really want multiroom, but it was the only way to get some of the other deals.  Bit of a pain that some deals now have 12 months left, and some are now 18 months.  Does grate me how they keep repeating how much youve saved , like anybody would pay the full price.
No charge to install... surely nobody agrees to the £199 ?

Any tips when Mr Sky comes to install ? They dont know if the dish needs replacing yet apparently. Will it be easy to test with the engineer whilst he is here, on how Sky Q runs with my BT router in another room upstairs ?
Is £45/month about the current going 'haggle rate' for Q multi room with sports/movies? I'm out of contract on this TV only package and currently paying £64/month so sounds like it's time to play that game again...?

Also... I'm still on a separate BT Sport contract, what's the typical cost to bolt that onto the sky package (was never an option before for me...)?

    Hey guys.
im coming back to sky from virgin. As other posters have posted I’ve been getting regular emails about coming back. Gave them a call and was offered the following

    signature £17
    sports £12
    ultra hd free
    hd £2
    kids £2.50
    multiscreen £9
free 2tb q box and mini box, admin fee waived.

totals £42.50 on 18 month contract.
this seems about on par with what most people are being offered.

    hope that helps someone.

Which is the best approach to take? Ring and say you are cancelling, or actually cancel and see if they come back with an offer?

Go go on their site and say cancel then I chose the text option. Say you can’t afford it and they will make an offer. I turned Down their offer and they asked me how much I could afford told them £19 for Signature and HD. Accepted.
  • I messaged with Sky's team on their website today to get a better deal. I wasn't happy with what they offered - so I proceeded with cancellation. I told the person I would wait for a call or letter with a come-back offer.
The chat person told me that they no longer do winback offers, and can only make offers at the point of cancellation.
This seems inline with what some others have experienced here.
If my cancellation goes through without contact, I  guess it's back to Virginmedia for me!

    Dear all
I've just come off text messaging as I wanted to cancel owing to cost. Was offered signature (£17) and HD (£2) total £19 per month. Very happy with this deal. It took about half an hour, so would encourage others to do the same

Thats rubbish. The offers are always better after cancelling. Though it won't be as low as they used to be, but certainly better than the offers when you "threaten" to cancel.
