Is this normal, and will I get a confirmation eventually?
Yes, and yes. I agree it is a bit strange that it says "This is an automatic acknowledgement of receipt of your email." when actually you've agreed a deal offered on their www.sky.com/mydeal page. Last year when I agreed a 12 month deal I got the automatic email straightaway that evening, subject "Acknowledgement from Sky Help Centre" and a reference, and then the next morning, 12 hours later I got a subsequent email with the subject "Re: Sky UK Offer: PC 12M PENDING CANCEL OFFER" and the same reference, saying "Thank you for choosing to come back to Sky." and "We can confirm that we have activated your Sky TV Bundle." then half an hour later another email, subject "Confirming your Sky offer" with the agreed products and prices. This year I got the "Acknowledgement from Sky Help Centre" email saying "This is an automatic acknowledgement of receipt of your email." straightaway. But I didn't get the "PC 18M PENDING CANCEL OFFER" email saying they had activated my Sky TV Bundle until 5 days later, and then a "Confirmation of the changes you've made to your Sky" email 20 minutes after that, with the agreed items and prices. So I guess you have to be patient for a few days.
  • Well I ended up settling on the following after getting through on the phone to the retention team and speaking to two different people:

    Sky Signature - £17.00

Ultimate TV Add on - £4.00

    Sky Sports - Complete Pack - £16.00

    Sky Cinema - £8.00

    Sky Sports HD - £2.00

    Sky HD - FREE

    Multiscreen - £12.50

    Ultra HD - FREE

    Total      £59.50

    Credit Adjustment  £60.00

Not sure this can be classed as a haggle but here goes.
My original discounted package was as follows:
    Entertainment   £13
    Ultimate On Demand   £3
    Sports   £15
Sports HD   £2 (not sure why this is separate!)
    Cinema   £9
    Sky HD   £5,
    Multiscreen   £13
    Total   £60
Package now deals have run out/ price increase applied:
    Entertainment   £24
    Ultimate On Demand   £3
    Sports   £15
Sports HD   £2 (still not sure why this is separate!)
    Cinema   £11
    Sky HD   £6
    Multiscreen   £14
    Total   £75
    New offer on My Deal:
    Signature   £17
    Ultimate TV   £4
    Sports   £10
    Cinema   £5
    HD   £1
    UHD & Netflix Premium   £1
    Multiscreen   £14
    Total   £52
18 month contract for Signature and Sports, 31 day rolling contract for the rest.
I've been a Sky customer since 1995 (when the once mighty Bolton Wanderers were promoted to the Premier League) and have had many offers on my account, but I didn't know about My Deal until I read about it here. I always rang up to haggle in the past! I wonder what else I've missed!
Seems like a no-brainer to go ahead with the new deal!!

My deal after cancelling two weeks ago via my deal is-
    Sky Signature- £19
    Sky Sports- £15
    Sky Sports HD- £2

This is around 40% off. Please note I’ve been with Sky for nearly 24 years this Summer. I live in a non Virgin area so never have been able to access amazing offers.

Apparently the winback team is off and has been reassigned to other assignments- can anyone confirm this?

Something to note regarding Sky/BT/Netflix etc over the next 12 months will be the lack of new content being made available due to Coronavirus so you really should factor that in when subscribing to a service now.

Unless you desperately want sports with Sky I’d look at NOW TV Entertainment as it’s £9 a month with no contract at the moment. That’s half the price of my Signature deal.

Are you in a Virgin Media area if you don’t mind me asking? And did your Sky go off entirely before they offered you this?

How did you contact them to get this offer or did they contact you. I’ve been switched off for a day now and that offer looks very appealing.

Have just played the cancellation dance (again)........ 18 month contract was up..... customer of 20+ years, still with old HD box.
Was paying £36 (increased to £39 in Jan) for Entertainment, Sports and Kids in HD.

Went through https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv and then chatted via Facebook messenger
Usual bartering took place, nothing doing (they wanted £46/month at first), so said I wanted to proceed with cancellation.

As usual, last throw of the dice from them.

    Sky Signature = £15 (£15 off)(18 month contract)
    Sky HD = £2 (£4 off)
    Kids = £1 (£4 off)
Sky Sports in HD = £18 (£12 off)(18 month contract)
    TOTAL = £36 per month
    18NMT £20 admin fee
    Sky Q 1TB UHD Box= Free

I'd seen slightly cheaper deals mentioned on here on the thread for those that had cancelled.
But in the end, i'm now paying a few quid less than last time for the same channels and i'm getting a box upgrade.
Maybe I could have saved a few more quid a month by going through with the cancellation..... but i'd already spent well over an hour on the chat......... didn't want to waste any more of my time.

    Hope someone finds this useful.
