I'm about to start haggling (I've been a Sky customer for 19 years) - I was paying £40 for Variety, HD, Sport + Cinema
Don't want Cinema or Sport - except F1
They are asking £72 to continue with the same
What is the BESTnegotiated bill for the next 18 monhs  ?

I managed to get today after cancelling; Sky Signature
    HD
    Sky Cinema
    Kids
All for £28 per month which I’m happy with, considering I was paying £32 when my deal ended previously.

Does Sky signature "work" on HD boxes ?
I have been offered a £49 price for Signature (@£19), HD (@£6), F1(@£18) - and Sport HD (@£6) - Told them, already not interested in Sport but why would I want to pay for HD twice ?
I have an HD box (to allow a second TV upstairs on "magic eye") but they have offered me what looks like a non-compatible option ?

Sky Signature is just the new name for Entertainment plus Box Sets so yes works on HD boxes.

My Sky contract is up on 31st July
    ...snip
I told them to cancel as it was more than I was willing to pay.
You're really far too early to negotiate. Wait till you're within the last 30 days both to negotiate and to cancel.
Well they were quite happy to negotiate discounts on all of that and were quite happy to take the cancellation as well. They don’t seem to be able to question effectively to find out what the customer wants and needs.

Anyway, have already had the email confirming my cancellation on 31st July.

My Sky was switched off yesterday. No further offers came, other than an SMS inviting me to call them 2 days before cancellation which I didn't. I have checked sky.com/mydeal today just to see if a new/better offer was available but the page redirects to a URL with "ineligible" in it. Possibly they're trying to call my bluff?

No big deal. I might pick up a month to Now TV as the last episode of the only show I'm currently following is due to broadcast next week - and there's a couple of things on Box Sets I might watch, but beyond that plenty on Netflix/Prime Video to tide me over for months!

Posting this mostly just as an FYI to others who may be waiting on an offer. Due to COVID, it might be that they haven't the resources to chase customers in the final week as they would at other times. If you don't want to lose Sky, you might need to chase them instead.
She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?
