I've been with Sky for the past 7yrs & just have the variety bundle. It's now gone up to £35.50 per month so decided it was time to cancel as I really do only watch a very small handful of the available channels. Anyway I phoned to cancel yesterday & wasn't put through to retentions but was offered a new deal at £25 per month, which I turned down as I'm thinking of going with Now tv instead. Is it likely once I've left that I'll get a better offer than the £25 deal only I might consider rejoining lf they offered a deal around £20 or less per month as I do like the ability to be able to record programmes on the Sky HD box?
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Variety doesn't exist anymore, all those old packages were replaced with Sky Entertainment, and the concept of addons of Kids, HD and Box sets which are all £5 on a rolling basis.
The out of contract price is £30 for Entertainment (on Sky Q anyway) and £25 with a new deal so you're not actually saving anything over what you would have paid anyway.
If you can live without the Sky+ functionality and have a decent internet connection, NowTV is significantly cheaper and has no contract.  However you can get Freesat recorders that are similar to Sky+HD (it'll never be the same but the concept is the same) that you buy and then own and they'll have all their catch-up stuff on too.
Note that if you cancel Sky you cannot watch anything you have recorded on your box.

My contract runs out soon, and the monthly amount is going up loads. What number did you contact sky on? The website gives no phone numbers and says not to call.

    Thanks

Click on "Yes", then the big "Call us" button which will reveal an 0333 number, or there are some other options on the above screen.

I think you'll struggle even cancelling at the moment ( you'll have to give a months notice too, of course) and that any deal will be a long time coming while the call centres continue to prioritise vulnerable customers..

As above last thing on their mind is doing deals at present .
Contract ends your service then moves to a rolling 30 day ( higher price) contract .
It would be worth paying that if needs for a couple of months .
Moving ISPs may not be trouble free at present .

I've already given notice to cancel, phoned on  Sunday & got through in just a few mins. My phone/broadband is with Now Tv anyway, which is a Sky company & not been with Now long so no intention of moving that elsewhere until my years contract is up & I see what the options are.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

Anyone else find that once they’ve put their 31 days notice in they can’t talk to an advisor on live chat anymore? I have got through today but they have told me they can’t access my account as I’ve got no direct debit details on account to answer as my security question.
I put my notice in about 3 weeks ago.
