I’d like to know on what basis I will not be offered any retention deal at this time?
It's due to a virus called Covid19, it has resulted in Sky closing down their call centres to all but their "vulnerable" customers.

Again thanks a lot, but sky have offered me a decent deal.

thanks for telling me about Covid19 not heard about it.

    what an idiot
How did you get through to chat ? I cannot find it on my account, is it hidden ? Thanks.
It’s on the cancel sky page

    https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv

Then it will give you the option to messsage them, this way seems to work, the option you have at the top right never worked for me.

Anyone had any success getting deals in the previous few days? I've tried phoning up in the previous few days and no one is even entertaining the idea of giving me an offer, they are just point blank refusing to give me an offer. First time I've ever had that problem with Sky

Nevermind,  3 phone calls yesterday, 3 today and then finally on the phone to retentions for an hour and 50mins and I got a £24 discount from my current bill. Im quite happy with the end result

  • When people are managing to cancel, are there no offers on the 'my offers' on the sky website or via the Box itself? That's where I've had the best offers in the past and my current deal is ending soon

    Hi,
I have just accepted the below on an 18 month deal
    Signature             £17
    HD.                      £3.50
    sports and HD.    £18
    Multi screen.        £8.50
    Superfast broadband.         £27

total £74.00 (£56.00 during the sky sports pause)

Sky sports paused from the start. The man also confirmed that sky sports deal date starts on day 1 and not from the day the pause stops - therefore the end date of the deal is still in line with the rest of the offers when it comes to renewal time.

  • Sky signature £17 + £10 admin fee was my best offer. I decided to decline for now. No offers in any of the usual places.
  • Sorry if this is covered in other posts.  Like many others I have multiple discounts on my sky package which are now expiring. At this point I would normally call them and enter into the haggle / cancel debate until I get back down to an amount I'm happy to pay for. Except now of course I can't call them as not elderly or vulnerable. So a price hike of approx £60 coming month after month and my only option to stop it is to cancel altogether online which isn't great as I'm 100%WFH and rely on my sky fibre broadband etc.. Anybody found an online / email route to haggle???

Your TV deal is independent from the broadband/phone so you can just cancel TV part?
  • Yes I could but the broadband element is one of my biggest discounts so still taking a hit. I had about 70% discount.
