  • It would be great to get any thoughts on this! I was paying £44/month via Sky for entertainment package (tv), superfast broadband & line rental. Today via retentions I was offered-

    £11 entertainment package
Sky Q 1 TB (if I pay £20 installation fee)
Line rental & fibre Internet- £25
    = £36/month

The only extras were £10/month multi-room or Sky Sports complete package at £17/month.

I went through with cancellation as I don't think this is overly great value. The Sky entertainment package isn't much more than Freeview, and Plusnet offer internet packages at £12/month. Am I being naive in waiting out for something better?

I think you are right to cancel.
It is highly likely that two weeks or so before disconnection, you will get an email with a unique number to call, it’s the ‘reconnections’ line.
You are almost certain to get a better offer.

Oops, this post was in response to the poster who said that free sky q was a vip reward

    I said ‘some’ VIP customers.
My point was, it suggests sky are looking to move more customers onto Q, rather than sky+ boxes.

Hence try to haggle it .

I want to get multiroom, currently pay £42 for sky q. Happy to pay another £13 for multi room, unless there's a way to get it free!! But begrudge paying £50 for a box I'm renting which is a necessity to Benefit from the £13pm payment... Any tips to lose the £50 fee?!

Have you got a 1 or 2 TB box?
The 2TB box is advertised as sky Q experience which includes a relay box for £13 per month.

Depends if there’s an installation fee for an upgrade.

Thanks for the reassurance, I'll sit tight for now!
  • Been with Sky since 2014, and had Sky Q multiroom for 18 months now. Originally we were paying £42 with movies, boxsets and cinema, but that recently went up to £47 and will be £67 next month(!).

Called up the other day and they best they could do was the following:

    £22 Entertainment
    £8 Cinema
    £13 multiroom
    £5 HD
£3 Ultimate on demand (our current offer which expires in 10 months!)

...which was £51, rising to £60 in 10 months!

Needless to say, I gave our notice and I’ll see if they come back with something better. Is that something they still do?

I left Sky last month and the final day was yesterday.

I've checked Sky offers today and have got the following offer :

    £15 Sky Entertainment
    £1 Sky Kids
    £1 Box Sets
    £1 HD
£15 Sky Cinema and Sky Sports

Total - £33 a month for the first 18 months.

Not a bad offer but I'm not biting, haha

Assuming that Sports HD is included that's a very good offer - about 60% discount on "standard" pricing . My package is up for negotiation in a few weeks and I'd snatch their hands off for that deal:)
