  • Best I have been offered is £17 for the Entertainment pack including HD and box sets. Sky simply won't budge from what is printed on the letter!

Sky tell me they stopped giving account credits/cashback over a year ago.

Anyone had any success getting a better deal than this? We still have our old sky box.

It might sound pedantic, but I'd hoped they'd offer a couple of quid off their "come back" deal. We have had massive problems with broadband that took almost two months to fix, which put us off re-signing earlier as we were thinking of quitting altogether.
  • Hi all,

Thanks to this thread I've been offered the Entertainment Pack for £15, and HD for £1 via the mydeal URL. Sports is £17, but I don't want to subscribe to that until the F1 starts (and I'll cancel it when the season finishes). Does anyone know if I accept the Entertainment Pack and HD now (which is 12 months subscription), whether I can still add Sports in March for £17, or does the mydeal URL not work as I'll be back in contract?

Also, does anyone know if the £12 multiroom subscription is contracted? I only need that for F1 in UHD, so ideally would only pay for it during the F1 season.

Sport at £17 will be tied to your contract - so if you select that now - you will be charged £17 per month for 18 months - if you choose not to - come F1 season, it will cost you £30 per month - it is NOT a PAYG contract !!
  • Sports is for a 31 day rolling, whereas the Entertainment is 12 months contract. I'm just curious if the £17 price will be available to me after I accept the £15 Entertainment pack? And any thoughts on whether multiroom is rolling or 12 months?

I left Sky in March 2018 and have just signed back up using after googling "come back to sky" and choosing the first result.

    I got :
    12M £11 off Sky Entertainment = £11
    12M £4 off Sky Box Sets = £1
    12M £4 off Sky Kids = £1
    12M £4 off HD = £1
    12M £19 off Sky Cinema and Sports = £19
12M Sky Go Extra = £0 (got it through Sky VIP)

    Totaling - £33

I then got an offer through Santander that if I paid for Sky via direct debit to my Santander account I would get £100 cashback.

So, in all £24.66 for everything (I think it's everything isn't it?).

I got my first bill through and it showed £40 a month so I had to contact them through Sky chat and send them a screenshot of the offer and the email confirming. The chap reckons they'd missed off a HD for Sky Sports and also that the figure for the Entertainment was wrong - but he wrote to the "back office" and they have put it back down to the correct £33. I've checked the future bill and they have indeed changed it.

I tend to have Sky for a year, then miss a year and get it again.

If your Santander account is 123 you get 3% cashback on your Sky bill as well. 99p in your case :)
  • We are moving house and we called to cancel broadband and pause TV as we weren't moving directly to our new house.

The lady was quite open with me in that they are trying to move away from heavily discounting on leavers but rewarding those longer standing customers through their VIP program.

Im not sure whether that is true or not but my deal runs out next month and as I will be 'in between' homes it will be a good opportunity to look at all my options. Currently we have Fibre max, landline only, entertainment, kids, box sets, HD and the sky q 2tb box with additional box and box sets. £51.75 per month.

If it costs me more going forward then its hardly rewarding length of custom imo.. Im looking forward to al the fun and games that will undoubtedly come. Will be keeping my eyes peeled for what deals others are getting on here for sure.

Not true unless they're changing things big style.

The 'rewards' through the VIP program are tickets for Disney on Ice (usually in London) or similar which is of little use to the vast majority of their customers.
  • Just cancelled my package to see what they offer. Initial offer was £74 for all of TV bar Sports plus Multiroom and Sky Fibre Max and Line Rental which is up from £60.

The con is that although the Fibre Max was a free upgrade, they are using this as a bartering tool when it comes to a new deal.

She said that this was the link to the discounts that could be offered and the tier you were in would determine the benefits you would get as well as the discount - like we get box sets (or maybe HD) for £1 rather than the full price as a result.

We are currently on a 50% discount currently which ends in March. She said they would probably offer a deal at the end of this but the one they could do was actually £12 more expensive and wanted me to enter 18 month contract. I had to ask her to repeat what she had said - pay £12 more for 18 months- i.e best part of £200 more for the same service which I should be grateful of because Im a gold VIP member.... Okaaaay!...

Will be calling them again in about 3-4 weeks so will see if the magical 50% discount can be offered.
