Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Hello,
I just tried to get a discount via online chat but was told I'd have to be transferred to retentions via text or Facebook message because online chat retentions department was closed 6 months ago.
Is this the case? I'm sure I've seen people recently on here describe discounts being offered via online chat.
I've got no reply via text so I guess I'll need to phone up.
Maybe it has something to do with having 6 months left on my 18 month contract. Problem is my TV discount stopped after 12 months but I thought I had full discount for all services for the full 18 months. Oops.
Thanks.0 -
I've been on 60% off for 2 years, they automatically gave me the 2nd year, It's due to run out in Jan. Received an email today automatically applying 50% off for the next 12 months.
So the full package, on old style HD box will be £41.75. I'll probably just take that.
It's the 1st time I've had an offer come through like this, although I've probably into my 10 year of 50% or more discount now.
Hi
I'm in pretty much the same situation as you.
60% off for almost 2 years (since Jan 2017) - Old HD Box - £23 for Entertainment pack & Movies (£15.80 / £7.20)
Got a letter after 1st year telling me discount would continue for next 12 months without a new contract.
Was preparing for a call to Sky but checked my future bills on website & discount appears to continue for at least the next 3 months.
Wonder if I'll get an email like you soon??
Like you I'm a regular haggler..... maybe we've beaten them into submission :-)Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0 -

Don't know about the online chat but I'd try billing rather than retention's anyway, have you still got the emails or letters from when you joined?0 -
Not sure about others, but our Line Rental was up for renewal next month, Sky had offered a full £5.00 discount off our service, namely Line rental, unlimited ASDL BB and Any Time Calls, which was fine until I noticed our next Bill would be for £26.99, which was not on - so promptly got on to Chat and asked them to explain new Billing to me and then enquired why I'd be paying more than with their sister company, Now TV. Initially the Sky consultant reduced our Bill to £20.50, which again I stated was unacceptable and that I'd begin the move to Now TV, who's offer to new customers, including a claim back cash back was £14.62 for new customers - of course no guarantee they'd pay out the cash back, but nice to know you have options.
Having given these details over, a new, reduced offer was made for £16.99, which is the cost i managed to negotiate in April following their increase in charges - i threatened to leave, hence back on £16.99 until next December.
now, i'm aware that some have managed to get further discounts and a few lucky customers are only paying £1.99 for Anytime calls, indeed I tried to get this price the last time i dealt with them, which would reduce our outlay to £11.99, however, given £16.99 is a lower cost than i was paying 12 months ago, indeed a lower cost that I was paying with PlusNet a few years ago, this represents good value, that and the fact I have no complaints whatsoever with the service we've had with Sky, including having our Line checked, new boxes installed and OpenReach appointments scheduled correctly.0 -
For those that have received the letters extending their deal how soon before the date it was due to go up did you get it. Our bill is looking to jump from £35 to £87 on the 17th january.0

Don't put your hopes on getting one of those, they're very rare and far between. I'd start your calls or chats now.0 -
Thank you for your advice. Our deal was going to expire so went on chat last night. We got the following which is a £10 increase per month on what we were paying but pleased it’s not going up to £87!
We got sky cinema, sports, box sets, hd, all the channels for £41 a month. They wouldn’t budge on the £20 admin fee which seems to be a new thing this year. We’ve signed up for 18 months on this deal. Deal was obtained through sky chat on the app.0 -

My 60% offer finishes at then end of Jan, so went on chat to see what was on offer. Upgraded to Sky Q a few months back so putting in a cancellation not an option. Current deal is £36 a month for Original package, cinema HD, sports HD and multi room.
To keep on the same package he offered £45 a month (Entertainment £13, sports £12,cinema £8 and £12 multi room)
I wanted to add kids and HD Pack but this would jump to £57. He said the entertainment package would go back up £20 as it can’t be discounted when packs are added on, Kids would be £5 and HD would be free.
Left it for the moment as I think there maybe a bit more I can get off. Got a bit of time till my offer end0 -

You can add and remove the packs at any time as they're rolling monthly add-ons so that's nonsense. If you take the first offer you can add them yourself straight after although it would be at £5 each.0
