Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Just an update from my journey, Sky now turned off (been off 36 hours)
No increased offers, no emails, no calls
Still showing 60% off any package in "left sky in the last 12 months"
So far i've been unable to get on live chat
So no idea if the magical 75% still exists...not too bothered at the moment not missing it anyway, i'll bide my time and try live chat on and off over next few days.0 -

I will use online chat tomorrow, but was planning to go down the same route as above and tell them I want to leave sky totally(I don't really-had it for years and have no virgin option in my area)
Is this a bad idea? should I just say I want to cancel tv package?
Thanks in advance peeps!).
Perhaps you should try the telephone first on second thoughts as it's easier to get through (sometimes) and it'll get the first couple of risible offers out of the way and then you can get down to the nitty gritty.
If you do cancel the telephone line, as pointed out by teddysmum, it could end up costing you a reconnect fee so you do have to be determined to get a better deal by that route.
It wont hurt for @wazza99 to try the telephone lines now either.0 -
I just talked to a chat advisor, our bill at the moment for original TV package, phone + international and fibre broadband is approx £71 a month. I was hoping for a decent discount plus an upgrade to box sets. The lowest he would come down was to £52.74, with no upgrade to box sets, which works out to 25% off our monthly bill.
I started the cancellation process and have received an offer of 50% off TV only (or £10 a month) on the sky service app. I am assuming this is normal and as I get closer to my actual cancellation date (Jan 19) I should receive better offers? We would actually like to stay with Sky, but are prepared to walk if they don't come up with a better offer.:happylove0 -
Finally got on chat tonight.....wont bore you with the hour conversation but ended up with
Complete Bundle reduced from £80 to £20.90, for 12 months
£50 account credit
1 month rolling contract
Basically 75% off any package....no discount to be had on multiroom.
So i'm now paying £20.90 per month +£12 multi room, less £50 credit. £28.74 a month over 12 months.....
To be honest just ask for what you want the offers are not "offered" initially, i was actually offered 20 % 1st.....i just kept on asking. 75%, then credit, then 1 month contract. All we're approved but never offered.
Ps now i think about it, i have the gut feeling, nothing more, that this deal could have been negotiated during the cancellation period, not that i'll ever know.0 -

I didn't get it until a couple of weeks after switch off. Until then it was 50%, having dropped from a brief , pre-switch off 60% off offer.0 -

Just try again, I got my offer that was good enough for us with 6 weeks to go before total switch off.0 -
Just to let you all know, my colleague at work, who was also disconnected, after hearing my story, contacted Sky live chat.
75%
£100 credit
1 month contract
......knew I should have asked for £100 !! ah well.
At least you know the offer is still out there.0 -

Virtually everybody who already has box sets - those who haven't are being given 3 months free access to the box set package.:)
The way that they are trying to hook the customer , is that when you use the voucher to purchase ,you get another voucher for £5 -but to activate this one ,you have to input credit card details -obviously hoping that once the details are in ,some will carry on buying:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

What makes you say they're giving an additional £5 voucher once you've used the original one? Where would it appear?0
