Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

So, I see the 50% doesn`t extend to the HD package. My plan was to try the live chat and attempt to push for 60% off or some credit to see how that goes....it appears Sky have gotten wise to this. It won`t let me go into chat as it says something along the lines of - We see you have already given your notice, please contact the below number to change the date your package ends.
Except for calling up, or the offer on My Sky increasing I guess I`ll be taking the standard 50% off.
Too late for yourself maybe but I got the same thing, just click on one of the other options (upgrade?) and it'll let you in on live chat.0 -
OK so I've just put in my notice on Sky TV (also get broadband and phone - I've said to put them on notice and I'll move them as well) a couple of days ago and best offer so far is 60% through my Sky box.
I want to upgrade to Sky Q with multiroom. Is it best to try to get that as part of the new deal or do it separately?0 -

First off , only use the live chat option as they have the best offers by far.
I've been told (via a different forum) that a Sky agent advised him to not upgrade to Q yet as Sky are looking to upgrade everybody on HD+ to Q next year at no additional cost. I'd just get the very best deal you can yet on HD+ or if you can do without it for awhile cancel and see what offers you get over the coming weeks.
Edit: It can't hurt to ask about Q when you contact them but don't accept if it's too much.0 -
Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes I spoke to an agent on live chat today and they said they didn't deal with Q, so looks like the plan is to try to get the best deal on what I have now. Don't think I'll be able to get any discount on talk/fibre which is frustrating but 60% off TV is a good start. Will see if anything better comes up in the next few weeks...0

You'll get half price on the fibre plus full line rental at least with a £50 credit put on your account, if not ask them to cancel. You can always stop the cancellation going through if you can't do without and then try again.0 -

Unlike tv, it is very risky cancelling phone and broadband, because, if it goes through quickly, you lose your number and face a cease charge.0 -

Yeah half price on fibre is what I'm looking for. When I said I wanted to cancel everything I think I've been put on some rolling thing with the broadband for another provider to take over. Didn't realise understand. Feel like I might have messed it up!0

Chat people, especially from abroad, seem to have a fixed script and less leeway than call centre people.
The online chat guy immediately offered 60% off TV when I mentioned the Sky Service App offer of 50% without me asking anything. It took no effort at all to get free ADSL plus £50 credit for an effective 55% off the package.
I only got a good deal last year via online chat too.
Script or not they seem to give better deals to me at least. The agents on the phone btw will of course be working off script as well.0 -
watching this with interest! Am just about to start the haggling process, currently pay £96 for fibre unlimited, landline unlimited and sky+, with multiroom and HD but no sports or movies, and have been out of contract for a couple of months(Doh!)
I will use online chat tomorrow, but was planning to go down the same route as above and tell them I want to leave sky totally(I don't really-had it for years and have no virgin option in my area)
Is this a bad idea? should I just say I want to cancel tv package?
Thanks in advance peeps!0
