  • Following on from my earlier post about a live chat conversation with Vodafone, I called them on 191. They told me that there is nothing they can do and I just have to wait for the letter, which because they are busy could be 'around' 3 weeks.

I just want to speed this up and get shot of Vodafone.
  • I got a text message today with my PAC code. No other communication just a text. Oh well. Soon away from Vodafone.
  • I originally sent an email and was told they could not deal via email, I then sent a signed for letter around 3/4 weeks ago - no reply.

I contacted live chat who told me to go to a Vodafone store with the text and they would cancel the contract for me. I advised our local store had recently closed and it was not convenient for me to go to the store further afield due to present health problems. He advised me to forward the text to a friend and give them all my id and recent bills and send them to deal with it - unbelievable!

They are just making this as difficult as possible. I have emailed jeroen.hoencamp@vodafone.com today to see whether I get any further. I will never touch Vodafone again:D

    I got
    1. Text message with PAC
    2. Phone call ostensibly to ask why I was leaving but the caller hung up on me!
    3. Letter in the post confirming that I was leaving
Apparently I should get another letter with a final bill etc after three weeks. As mentioned already in the thread I am having some difficulty paying Vodafone the amount (<£10) that I currently owe them

The new, higher, prices are now in effect.

You'll be affected only if you do one or more of the following:
    - exceed your allowance of inclusive calls to geographic numbers starting 01 and 02, non-geographic numbers starting 03 and mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079,
    - exceed your allowance of inclusive text messages to geographic and mobile numbers,
    - call, or send a text message to, a geographic or mobile number allocated in Jersey, Guernsey or Isle of Man,
    - call a premium rate number starting 070, 084, 087, 09 or 118,
    - call a 'freephone' number starting 0500,
    - make a video call, or
    - send an MMS.

If you stay within your allowance of inclusive calls and text messages you will see no change.

  • Ok, following my mail I received a call from customer relations who I could not understand too well. From what I can gather they are saying I am now not entitled to cancellation even though I received the text.

I have made mms texts so will have been charged out of plan and also the £3 per day for europe bolt on. That is the only out of bundle charges I have.

Why did they send me a text giving me the option to cancel if it wasn't applicable to me. The call cut out as I was in a rural area so they have asked me to call back but wanted to see what others think.

Really fed up with vodafone and their customer service.

Sending MMS should make you eligible for cancellation. I would have thought Vodafone are on extremely dodgy ground if they have texted you to say that you are eligible and then try to backtrack.

In terms of my own experience, I'm still waiting for the final bill which I understand should come in the post, and still owe them a few pounds. I will wait until the end of this week before contacting Vodafone again.

same thing has happened to me, they charged me £401 even though i was told i was entitled to leave without charge.

I've sent a formal letter of complaint with all the corresponding texts, emails, chat logs etc...

if after a month i haven't heard back i will take my case to the communications ombudsman service.

it's incredibly frustrating, unfair, and stressful that we have to fight to get what we are entitled to.

    It's 8 weeks, not a month.
