  • Hi Sammy,

just came across this thread too - I also remember your previous thread on a similar note... in fact I had to keep double-checking the start date of this one as I thought I was reading the old one..!

I can only echo what everyone else has said about how you are worth so much more than this & your resourcefulness earlier in the year (Xmas even?) was amazing. Your son also needs more - you are both victims of abuse & it isn't likely to change is it?

PLEASE PLEASE listen to what lynzpower & others are saying re your council tenancy though - dig your heels in, be stubborn & insist they have a responsibility to help you & you are not prepared to be palmed off. Also tell them it is URGENT and that you cannot remain in the property due to a an abusive relationship, and need to be near your family as well. Be a pest! (but a nice, polite, pleasant one.... just one that won't go away & accept what they say). Having the security of this sort of tenancy if they is any way at all that you can keep it should reduce some of the worry.
I see someone mentioned entitledto.co.uk - that should show you what money you will have and you know people will rally round you.

    Hope you are ok.....

    Sammy,

There are a lot of people who have been through what you are going through and a hell of a lot of us tried to leave but in the end couldn't do it. I did this many, many times before I finally finished it.

I for one will not judge you whatever you decide to do. Just make sure that whatever the future brings - you ensure you do things for you, to increase your self esteem. Then you will be the best mother possible and have a greater insight into your own actions.

Sammy once you find the strength to stand up to your bullying partner your life will change for the better. My ex told me I wouldn't last two minutes without him and 20 years later here I am with a lot more than I ever would have had with him. He was very similar to the guy you describe, I got abuse, no money from him and he thought it was OK to see other women.

If you live with abuse your son will see it as normal and will possibly grow up thinking it's OK to treat women that way, I'm sure that's not what you want for him.

Hope your ok, on a note about trying to get the council to re house you, this could be a really good option as in years to come when you are in a better financial position all the years as a council tennenant will go towards you being able to buy your coucil house at a discounted rate (can be rather a lot),anyway I hope your ok x
