So you go out instead with your friends and he has friends around.

No he usually comes out with me and my friends, but I know they don't like it all the time so I had to cut it down. When they come over, he is here.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

I was once friends with a girl at work, she was pretty but I didnt think about being with her at all, I think I mostly thought she was out of my league anyway. One evening we went out for a drink as we had done many times previously, good night hug again as many times previous but she kissed me. We had a few months together but it was awkward with work and keeping things secret, and I always thought the worst and convinced myself she didnt like me.

It didnt work out and after that we stopped talking and switched jobs and I never saw her again. In hindsight I often think if only wed stayed friends as enjoyable the time we had together was before my nueroses kicked in. i was too young and immature I guess. I often wonder if she ever thinks of me. I doubt our paths will ever cross again. I am not sure if this is typical or not but that was my one and only female friend.

I think even if single I would not get involved with him as you can't just never see them again if things don't work out - awkward!

    Nope, she also asked.

I answered whether you can have them with straight men.

You can also have a friendship with someone you're attracted too. Chances are, it will eventually pass if you don't want to act on it.

    This is what I think.

Are you though? Or have you just decided that's what you are going to be? Does he even want to meet up and do things outside of work? All sounds a bit stalker-ish to me tbh.

Stalkish how? I am not following him around like a puppy dog. We just talk at work and go to work dos. I haven't suggested one to one yet, I want to wait a while to see how things go.

You're planning all these things you want to do with him, drinks, cinema, nights at yours, and you haven't even asked the guy if he wants to be friends yet! He might not want anything to do with you outside work, just all seems abit strange to me.

Not planning, just examples of things you do with friends. Don't see what the problem is. Not stalking at all!!

I'm all for it, assuming you're totally honest about everything with your partner.

Judging by most of the responses, I must be a bit unusual in that I think if someone is a cheat, they may as well do it sooner rather than later, and save their partner wasting any more time. (Not saying this is you OP).

I know my attitude could break my heart someday if my partner ever cheated on me, but if I prevented him spending time with other women, I'd feel I was keeping him in a cage, and would never know if he truely loved me or not, unless he's given the opportunity to prove it.

Ok. :) Well ask him then (because you've obviously made up your own mind anyhow), and it will be interesting to see what his reaction is.

Of course I will be doing when we have known each other longer. Nothing wrong with it at all. I could call you stalkish coming on and insulting strangers!
