Cheap sewing patterns

Does anyone here know of a good source of Dressmaking patterns either online or more usefully in Lincolnshire?

Have you had a look at Prima magazine - they used to give you the pattern with the mag but now you have to order it.

The Prima patterns are free if you are a subscriber and there's usually a good subscription offer on the go. Also if you have a Boyes store nearby, they sell lots of fabric, knitting stuff and patterns. They have stores in Hull and Goole, depends what part of Lincolnshire you are in.

or do a search on yahoo groups - there are lots of pattern coops, that you can join up to

think most fabric stores have simplicity and vogue patterns with 25% off at the mo too

There is also a Boyes in Louth in Lincolnshire - they do a good line in 'seconds' fabric too - the biannual sales they do are worth going to as things can be a tenth of the price of normal.
If the kind of patterns you are looking for are 'classic' styles you can get away with looking in charity shops - often the clothes are the same as modern styles but the graphics are 'of their era'.
Regards online stuff if you mean free patterns then I usually go to
    http://sewing.about.com/od/freeprojects/
    as a good start.

Regular customers of Louth Boyes. The range of patterns is a bit limited and I suspect my OH is older than the target age group of the patterns available there But thanks anyway. Will see if Grimsby Boyes has a better range but it's sad it's so difficult to get new dressmaking patterns.

    There's a tutorial here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0

If you don't like the look of this one, if you use that board's search engine to search for tote bag or "Jordy bag" you will get LOADS of variations. My sister has made a couple of these - they come out very well.
