I made this bag. I had loads of bias binding I got from a charity shop. It worked just like the picture and is very useful.

Ok - here's my attempt at the pattern - It's a very rough attempt on some scrap fabric but it's really easy to do - although would be easier to use bias binding on the edging if you wanted a better finish.........my daughter has already snaffled the bag and wants me to make more for her friends!

Using the same beginning method I made another sort of bag too - more of a shopper - just sewed the seam across the bottom with right sides facing which gave a good pleat in the bottom of the bag - used different handles and made a case to fold it into so that it can go in the bottom of a handbag (going to give this one to MIL for mothers day)

It needs a press - it's not really lopsided!!

    Well Done Pooky. :T:T:T

    They look great.

If your daughter and her friends all want one you are going to be very busy.

    Another great idea, thanks MM.

I've been toying with the idea of buying a bias tape maker, they're not very expensive and I can never find bias in the colour I want. Oh, for a good old-fashioned well-stocked haberdashers!;)

Thanks Rikki - they are really so quick to make though that I think I could probably do 3 or 4 an hour (unless you go for the fiddly edging lark).......Guess what everyone's getting for Christmas! lol

Thanks Elidee - my friend has a regular stall at all the local farmers markets so I might see if there's a market for them - it's ok all the time I've got loads of fabric stashed away (ty nice lady on freecycle who gave me 2 black sacks of the stuff) but if I had to actually buy fabric then they'd probably cost about £2.50 each to make including cotton - not sure there would be a decent profit margin there to cover my time.
