Feeling very low about breakup

Sorry if this is intrusive but do you think he may have problems in the bedroom department being that he has focused for all those years on his work and children.
If he has never dated or had a relationship for 13 years he may be terrified of the thought of having to take that next step so has called a halt to getting further involved.
Of course we could speculate all day as to the reasons and I do agree that you would do better to let this go and move on easier said than done though.0 -

No, i don't think it's intrusive. Let's just say the first time he was very very nervous. He admitted it had been a long time, and he wasn't used to this situation. To be honest, that made me like him even more. Let's just say he got over the initial nerves, and things were fine.0 -
I think that you are going to have to accept that this has not worked out for whatever reason and be grateful that he has ended it sooner rather than later. Sad for you I know, I'm sure there is someone out there for you.0

O I feel for you.
This happened to me too in almost identical circumstances. He changed overnight after doing all the running and all he could give me by way of explanation was that his daughter didn't like the idea. His daughter was 26 and I never met her!
I felt a fool.I was devastated.I wanted to set my children a better example of how relationships should be,not acting like a teenager.I decided to give up hope of ever finding anyone.
Then I met my husband. We both knew straight away that we would get married. We have been together 7 years.Looking back at what I had with the other guy I was fooling myself into thinking it was great.
Chin up,move on,you never know whats round the corner.xxxxxx:0 -

So, a week on, and feeling upset all week, with my confidence at rock bottom........ I have been shopping, bought myself some new clothes, and arranged a few nights out. My friends know what I have been through in the past, and know how this has hit my confidence.... They have been superb this week giving me lots of support. However lousy I still feel, enough is enough. He's the loser not me, his problem not mine. I'm going to get out there and have fun (even if it kills me) ! Lol! Thanks for all your wise words. I'm not there yet.......but I'll try my best to make sure I do! X0

this may be a stupid question but have you tried online dating?0

Well done you! You'll definitely get there, and it sounds sooner than later!
It's amazing how almost all of us can look back and think of some of the people we fell in love with 'why oh why did I feel so strongly for him/her'.
Still look at it positively, for some time, you experienced great happiness with someone, even if short-lived, and that's always good for the soul.0 -

No, my friend has, and has met someone. I don't think it's really my thing. What are I'm annoyed about more than anything (perhaps annoyed is not the right word), is that I was perfectly happy and contented being single. I had accepted that this was how my life would be. But having a taste of what could have been, and being happy in a different way, has put me in turmoil. I think I'm missing out life now and it's unsettled me. I'm hoping this feeling will ease and go away.0
