I have garnered another NSD, so 4 in a row so far. Another exercise session done, although these will slow down now that I'm back at work.
Have been trying to get to bed by 10pm, and have managed it most nights. The ones where I've been late are due to reading a good book!
I'm lucky as the only time my credit card was fraudulently used was years ago, when we had paper statements and paid by cheque. It was for World of Warfare, for £1.79 :rotfl:. A phone call put it right again. Glad it was sorted quickly thrifty.
Fmess - glad you rested today. Take it easy.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Glad it's sorted thrifty- how frustrating that nothing is safe anymore.
Nsd7 for me today. Couldn't do my run today as late home from work but I will try to fit it in during the week.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820 -
Hi all
So pleased that the fraud has been sorted out Thrifty. I'm always a bit reassured to hear that banks are pretty vigilant for that sort of stuff.
Calling - I am willing to offer to run the thread in May, although I haven't ever done it before, and I may not do it the justice it deserves. But if I never try I'll never know.
First day back today - I've survived, but I'm absolutely shattered now. It took less than an hour to feel as though I'd never been away. But a full teaching day and a late finish usually means a nsd, and it has today. I even marked a set of books before I came home this evening!
So, a couple of things that have made today better...
1. Getting a set of books marked on the first day back
2. Having a good first day back at schoolNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Evening all. A broken loo and a running cystern to report. Doh. Heavy handed teens, gotta love them. I am paid on Friday so will arrange for a plumber to replace then. I still have a few quid to get to payday but not enough for this.
Busy day at work. Simple supper. Meatballs and baked pots n salad. All OK, utterly exhausted now though. Early bed for me. Not enough exercise even though I didn't stop.Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950

Crazy_cat_lady Thank you for volunteering for May.
I had a lovely night out last night, live music at its best, venue not the greatest. My legs ache today, think it was trying to unstick my shoes from sticky carpet all night.lol Didn't spend over my budget either.
Today ate far too much, some exercise not enough really. Spent today bought a chicken and some broccoli. I hate not having a freezer full of food, not sure why as growing up we didn't have a fridge. Whilst shopping daily was normal I detest food shopping.
Will have to gain some sfd this weekLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
I think I am on 4 NSDs, may be 5, but will stick with 4. Spent today on some RM for DH at M&S but avoided him having a minging kebab. I had odds and sods out of the freezer in an effort to use things up before we move.
You can tell I am back at work today as I have achieved less than 6000 steps compared with 19k on Saturday and 18k yesterday.
Long work day tomorrow so will be off to bed in a minute as need to be up early.
Things that make me happy today....

Well this month his salary for this job should've finally be sorted (proper pension deductions ect.) so I will sit him down for a money chat. He earns 400 more than me (i think) and don't think he got that more outgoings than me. Rather the opposite. Yes he pays for family days out etc more but also doesn't really think this is family money but it's his. Like when he stays in the pub till after 12 on the odd occasion or goes snowboarding. I don't do these things because they are not in "our" budget. So a good talk is needed. Also we're planning our next holiday and I come across as stingy (if we want to to that we also need to consider the new front door, the work in the garden etc etc, and he doesn't get it). Never mind that he is still in his OD, Sorry, getting all worked up about it, it;s just money
.
Just wondered if you are married to my DH:rotfl:- he was exactly like this a few years ago.
Originally we pooled all our money in a joint account but over time DH ran up lots of debt buying things he needed so the budget didn't work as he had very limited spends but wanted more so ran up c/c's and in turn the minimum payment crept up taking more money from the budget.
I got so fed up that we started with separate accounts and we both agreed the household bills and divided by 2. At that time I used to work part time and also receive the Tax Credits and Child Benefit and even though DH had an income of over £1200+pm and my income was about £900 he thought we should both pay the same amount in. I didn't agree but knew that he would not back down so while I was scrimping around he carried on running up more debt with loans and credit cards and soon the minimum payments on all his debts plus his bill contribution was more than his wages so then I had to fill the car up for work so was no better off - but I never lent him money.
Luckily (?) DH got ill and he had 4 months off work on SSP which meant he had to default on all his debts. I'm honestly not sure where it would have ended with his debts - possibly getting a large consolidation loan but he sure as hell was not going to give up spending without a fight.
Once DH got ill I took control of all his accounts and still manage his money now even though he is back at work.
The tables have turned now and he only works part time but he still contributes the same as me to the bills and other savings as it's only fair that when I earn more we do the same as he wanted when he earned more!! (When he was off sick obviously I covered all the bills - I'm not that cruel!!)
DH pays his debts token payments - he owes about £25k:eek: - I'm not sure how he will ever get out of debt but at least he can't run up any more as his credit is so bad.
After all that long winded post I just wanted to send ((( ))) and say that I do understand where you are coming from but have no real answers - I don't think wishing your husband got ill is the answer:rotfl:
What I did was did a household budget which included rent, ctax, utilities, TV Licence etc and then divided that by 2 to get our contribution. I also worked out what we needed to put towards household things, animals, birthdays and petrol and divided that by 2.
What's left is ours to spend as we want and to cover our own bills so things like car insurance, debt repayments. We also try to save quite a bit of out leftover money as we want to buy our house.
DH does get some PIP as he can't work full time due to his health, some of this covers osteopath and acupuncture and the rest is saved ready for when he has time off and does not get paid for it so then we transfer money out so his income matches what he would usually get.0 -
So today was a NSD taking me up to 7 - I do need to do a small shop soon as we have run out of fruit, veg, shampoo and cheese.
Didn't get a chance to audit tonight as spent some of this evening delivering leaflets about the village litter pick I have organised and also checking DD's revision test sheets for some tests which are coming up in 2 weeks. Crikey it was hard work and got the brain working!! (There were 6 booklets which needed checking and then on the questions she hadn't answered we worked through the answer together - hats off to all the teachers as I just couldn't do it for longer than a few hours with one child never mind a class of them)0
