Thanks for the number Calling14 and for the welcome everyone else, I'll try and paddle along for April :D

Today wasn't a NSD, spent £5.40 stocking up on cat biscuits but at least the cats are fed. EE have very kindly taken out double the amount they should've so will chase them up tomorrow about that :( Healthwise need to register with a dentist, will hopefully do that tomorrow :o

Two things that made me happy today:
I'm in control of my finances enough to notice the double payment to EE, there was once a time when I would never have noticed so this is an improvement :)
There is a cat sleeping on my feet :)

  • Morning all,

Quick post from me. Had to buy milk yesterday and I looking at my diary, tonight is my only chance this week to go to the driving range to practise.

Pleased to say I gave my cupboards an audit though and cleared out tons! Looks and feels much cleaner/nicer.

    2 things I’m grateful for;
    - Having a car. And the freedom that comes with it (not so grateful for the costs).
    - The NHS. They’ve done a fantastic job with my gran and it’s hugely appreciated!

    Good morning!

Things I am happy about today:

1; I managed not to pick the skin on my fingers yesterday (first day in ages and hard work) (been a compulsory skin picker for 20 years et least and want to finally break the habit)
2; DH doing a budget top up shop - needed bread and cereal, some fruit for the kids, I didn't have any cards since the fraud so DH had to pay and guess what, stuck to the list :P

Miserable here today so will train indoors at lunch today. Lovely healthy lunch again of teriyaki salmon (LO dinner) and salad. Got the Tescimo magazine yesterday and the sausage couscous recipe matches exactly what we have left in freezer/cupboards so that'll be tomorrows tea. Today will be batch cooked bolognese.

Hopefully make a full house of SFDs this week (weekdays)

  • Well, def not a NSD today or yesterday.

Savings got a real rattle yesterday, I keep trying to say it's ok, that's what emergency savings are for but it feels like a kick in the stomach to see the account sitting so low today.

The reason for my empty account? My reliable Car blew up in the city centre. Apparently it's not worth fixing, engine is terminal, so had to buy another one. I'm very rural and need a vehicle for everything. Walking is just not an option.

Anyway, feeling a bit low, but I'm so glad savings were in place and available. Cc would have been the only option a few years ago.
The new car is very nice actually. Very comfortable and smooth.
Going to try putting an extra £100 into the savings account on Friday.
    On a mission!

erin so sorry to hear about your car..we had a really bad situation 2 years ago with our last car. We'd had one 2nd hand car for almost 5 years and it was brilliant. Until the clutch went and it was uneconomical to fix it. So we borrowed £2,000 to buy another. Only to find 6 months later the oil leak which it had from about the 3rd day of owning it, was terminal. It had transmission issues too. So we decided that we would not be borrowing more money as we'd only made a dent in the money we owed for that car and haven't owned a car since.
We live in London and don't really need one. We cycled everywhere until I had another baby last year. But I am proud not to have borrowed money for a car since. If we do get another we will save up for it.
However after that long boring story it doesn't help you I'm sure :)

    So my check in.

Pretty skint but managed a £1 PAD just because I could :) this puts into the next £100 bracket.
Walked my legs off as usual.
Last night I cooked 10 rashers of bacon which were on offer for £2. We had bacon sandwiches, wedges and salad for tea. OH had a BLT for his lunch today, I did son spaghetti with pesto and bacon & we have 3 rashers left for gnocchi with pesto and salad tonight. Pretty good for £2.
Tommorow I am off for that check up I booked from the health challenge. Still need to book the dentist one though.
Officially out of contract with vodafudge now so need to really sort myself out on the SIM only swap.

    Hope everyone's good.

    Hi everyone :D
Just a quick check in from me tonight because I'm really tired and completely desperate for an early night. It's been cold, grey and raining for 2 days solid now and I'm tired. Every night I say I'm having an early night, and every night I'm still up after 11pm... :o
    Bagged another nsd :j
Two things that have made my day better...
Getting to the end of Wednesday and knowing that my working week gets easier from here.
Being snuggled up with my fleecy pj's on and knowing I'm done for the day. :)

Hugs crazy cat lady. Sweet dreams.

A SFD. Mum's filing done. Washing up done (including roasting dishes/ trays). All my newly washed clothes folded/ hung up. My energy firm sent me an e-mail to say the billing error has been resolved. However it may take them another 6 weeks to actually produce my final bill. Then I can bin the drawer full of corrections and complaints sent over the past eighteen months. At least 10 items binned or put in cs bag.

    Today I am grateful for
bin men - just because, don't think they are appreciated enough
sandwich thins, freezer is emptying but still have thins and wraps and some fillings (for days when I can't think what to cook)
Sunshine, makes everything brighter (will worry about the dust later)

    Things that made me happy
comedy programme - thought it was an old one but it was new
my plates - bright blue with spots, still love them.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Today I am grateful for the trees starting to bud and produce leaves, for dh doing stage 2 out of 3 on the roof, for dd's headteacher, for a lunchtime walk, for having not just enough, but an abundance.
