Week 3 Challenge – Putting yourself first
Putting yourself first is like securing your own oxygen mask before helping others (love this quote)
1. Change your game plan . Do you ever feel like you can never get your house clean enough? Does it seem like the laundry never gets done? Have you spent an entire weekend trying to cross off everything on your to do list only to have to start over on Monday? Set new priorities.
2. Decide what putting yourself first is. Does it mean getting at least 6-8 hours of sleep? Probably not always possible with little ones. "Me-time" away from everything? Is it working on your favorite hobby or exercising? Staying in pajamas all day? It's important to be specific
3. Situations in which to Remember to Put Yourself First
At work
Do not let your good nature be taken advantage of. Gopher is not in my job title
In relationships/ family situations
Make sure your are with someone who makes you happy.
Not saying that you shouldn’t take care of your partner or your children, but what about you? Aren’t you just as important? (Maybe even more so!) You health and well being matters.
With friends
Put yourself first by encouraging and developing friendships with people who share your drive and your passions. And as you evolve, let your friendships evolve with you by knowing when to let go. Some friendships last years. A rare few last decades. Some last just a day. The key is to focus on friendships that let you be more, not less, you.
On your own
Set aside some time to do at least a couple of things that make you happy. Write 5 things that you enjoy doing.
List 5 things that you enjoy
Mine are for example.
1. Cuddles and laughs with my grandson
2. Traveling
3. Curled up with a magazine and a nice drink
4. Walking somewhere new.
5. Swimming
Last time I did them
1. Cuddles and laughs with my grandson (Wednesday)
2 Traveling (last Saturday)
3 Curled up with a magazine and a nice drink( 2 weeks ago)
4 Walking somewhere new. (month ago)
5 Swimming (over 3 yrs eek)
Know from experience there are highs and lows of debt busting/saving. A feeling of despair, getting no where fast. getting so impatient wanting to see debt diminish. This added to this we have stressful lives, with caring for family members/ helping others. So this week be extremely selfish if you can delegate, put your feet up after done all your exercise that is. Most important no feelings of guilt anyone.
If your feeling tad down, most of you a week from payday. This is the FUN week, cheer yourself up For one week only the naughty step is full of cocktails, sun loungers and sun.:D_party_
No one can be naughty got nowhere to be placed !
However still keeping your budgets in check and trying to top up those SFD.
What have your paid off? Saved? Percentage of target? Since you started on MSE look how far you have come. – We deserve a rest and reward this week:T:T:T

Thanks Calling for this weeks challenge. Which doesn’t sound difficult, but in a hectic and rushed life – it is hard to find “me time” as you say. This week (Fri-Fri) I’m going to go for 4 NSD’s coupled with plenty of exercise and healthy eating.

Hi all,
Sorry I have been missing in action. Not sure when I lasted posted but the short version is that after feeling ill on Sunday, I had Monday off work but have been back since but have been battling with still not being very well and for some reason at the last minute decided to put in for a promotion which meant lots of work to prep my application last minute. Today is the first night I've had time to breathe and have not been ill.
On a positive, I haven't spent anything, so that's 4 more SFDs and presumably I must have lost some weight as I've not been eating much and haven't had a snack all week. Had a proper meal for the first time today. I'll weigh myself tomorrow.
Week 3 Challenge – Putting yourself first
1. Change your game plan - I am going to try and do one thing a day in the week to clean the house. Today I have dusted downstairs. I know it doesn't sound much but after 9 in school each day, dog walking and then school work in the evening, I just have to admit I don't have time for more but I am not going to stress about it.
2. Decide what putting yourself first is I- am going to attend an exercise class once a week as I enjoy that and I often put it off to get more work done.
3. Situations in which to Remember to Put Yourself First - Work is definitely the major one that needs to be dealt with and I have addressed this by going for this promotion this week. I have addressed the family, friends and relationship situations in the last year and am happy that I can now put myself first and express what I need from these relationships.
List 5 things that you enjoy and the last time I did them
1. Walking with my dogs in the sunshine (today)
2. Gardening (not done this since I planted bulbs months ago)
3. My exercise class (last month)
4. Watching TV in bed (this week when I was ill)
5. Baking (a couple of weeks ago)
My achievements recently are having just got back under 4k and reaching 70% debt free. I pretty much back to where I was this time last year when I split from my ex and inherit the debts for all the money that he owed me. I can't wait to see the back of this last 4k!
