Hello, so i wanted to let you know that I have had to pay out for the fixing of the starter motor. Its has cost £200 in total for part and fitting. At least now I can get my son around. Its not the cost that I am upset about its the princple of the named car trading company selling me a car with warranty (and being covered under the consumer act 2015) and not fixing it. I think thats a very fair comment. All the best.0

And are yo going to see them in court or put it down to experience?0 -
Not a great start if that's the case.forgotmyname wrote: »Taxed but uninsured? And are yo going to see them in court or put it down to experience?
If the OP doesn't sort their insurance they'll be the one in court not the dealer.
NO HT06KZD is NOT showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today.
OP - I'd get onto your insurance company asap. A starter motor will be the least of your worries if you're driving around uninsured. Probably best to sort that first if the reg is actually your car and you didn't make a typo on the letter you sent.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Hopefully HGC LTD will be on to confirm why they couldnt fix a faulty starter motor on a car they sold a couple of months ago - keep us posted.0

You're still breaking the law so you're not doing it by the book.I haven't insured it because its not drivable lol. Its been sitting on the drive since ive had it. So don't worry it will be insured I do things by the book.
You cannot have a car taxed and not insured. If it's not insured it must be SORN.
Sorry to disappoint, my broker checked for mefoxy-stoat wrote: »Tut tut, someone hasn't been very truthful on the ASKMID terms ay !!!

Yes PCMc I will be going through the small claims court. I have taken some good advice from people on here. So now I am going to relax, get the car fixed and let small claims court deal with it. I will just apply for the cost (£200 which it has cost me for the part and labour) I think that's only fair. Believe it or not I am a very fair person.
Just wish they would have been kind enough to fix it, I think most garages would have after only selling the car 1 month prior. 0 -
Then ill insure it jimjames. Thanks for the heads up
