That letter was sent on the 29th of december. Hey are you with them or me? lol
You wouldnt be !!!!ed if you bought a car from a trader and they !!!!ed you over?! come on...
Do you want to get a result or not?
If it goes to court, all your correspondence gets looked at, and the way you handle it can be very important. You need to find the best cost effective way (and this is not necessarily cheapest) of dealing with the issue.
You could try and return the car under the legislation, which would lead to protracted problems even if you eventually get your way.
Or else find a way of getting the car fixed and checking whether there are any sleeping timebombs waiting for you.
Use a decent but not main dealer to get the part fixed, and the proceed to money claim online to recover it. You don't need a lawyer to do this.
Any unreasonable costs will not be allowed, and you will be expected to minimise the costs. Don't bother with a national solicitor for something like this.
Did you research the garage before buying? What are their reviews like? Be careful of slating a company online in forums. Their record might be generally good, and you could find yourself in the High Court being sued for libel.0 -
I was told by citizens advice to send them three emails. The last was to ask if they were on the ADR scheme. Guess what. NO REPLY as always!! Please believe me when i say they dont care. They really dont. Its my problem as they put it to us on the phone in other words. HEATHROW GENERAL CARS are cowboys.
Thank you for ALL of your notes above. Ill get the car done at best price i can then claim for the costs.
In the mean time I will post reviews on other websites about them!!0 -

You may wish to make sure that, if you get your costs back, you remove any potentially libellous statements from your posts.0 -
OP, this important.Mercdriver wrote: »Any unreasonable costs will not be allowed, and you will be expected to minimise the costs. Don't bother with a national solicitor for something like this.
I would even say - don't bother with any solicitor.
You are unlikely to recover any solicitor costs in the small claims court.
Even if none of that happens OP, you are likely to get this thread removed and all your 'publicity' disappears with it.Mercdriver wrote: »Be careful of slating a company online in forums. Their record might be generally good, and you could find yourself in the High Court being sued for libel.0 -

I am very happy to remove all my posts if i get my money back. But they should have fixed it in the first place. This is the point. How can you sell someone something and it go wrong you dont fix it? warranty was for 3 months. Ive had it a MONTH!0

As i was told by Citizens advice. Doesnt matter about their warranty anyway. If goods that someone buys is unsatisfactory i would be covered by consumer rights act? No matter what terms they give, it doesnt matter.0

there fictitious statement of 3 mths is incorrect under consumer law , they WANT you to think 3 mths.
contact a local garage ask for an all in price , and a price for labour only , then buy a motor like the one suggested.
keep a track of reasonable costs incurred from making the garage enquiry to receiving the car back and keep receipts , also add the wheel nut costs (receipt) raise a claim online for your costs and sit back
this is AFTER sending them a FORMAL NOTICE , by royal mail , not by email (where did CA get that from?) , sent first class with proof of postage free from a PO , NOT RECORDED , in this list all the costs you will incure and ask them to pay them OR collect and repair the car
BY ROYAL MAIL , NOT EMAILSave a Rachael
