I am sorry if SOME of you think i an rasing my voice. Thats not the intention here. I am simply trying to get across that these guys are cowboys. yes they can shut their doors tonight and reopen in the morning, to take yet another victim. It angers me that I have been a vitcim of this and if anyone think its right what they have done then you do need your head tested. Mistakes can be made in the way that you present your case to the public, but i can assure you all when i take this to a small claims court it will be correctly presented.0

I collected the car on 26th of november0

Ive got someone coming out to look at the car tomorrow. I have to pay for this of course.
The bottom line here is - HEATHROW GENERAL CARS LTD are bang in the wrong. end of story0 -
Kellyshaw, I would be surprised if the light on the dash is anything to do with the failure of the starter motor.
In other words, once the starter motor has been replaced, suspect you will still be left with the "light on on the dash" problem.
Keep your eye on that.
There was a battery light on when it was MOT'd in 2014.0 -
Am I the only one left wondering if there is *actually* anything wrong with the starter, or whether the battery light (likely indicating the alternator not charging) might point to the battery simply being flat?0

But the point that was being made is that they can close their doors tonight and re-open tomorrow as a totally different company.yes they can shut their doors tonight and reopen in the morning, to take yet another victim.
If that happens, any claim you have against the old company disappears with that company. You cannot just claim your loss against the new company even if it is exactly the same people running it.
Be aware that the mistakes you make now can be used in court by the other party.Mistakes can be made in the way that you present your case to the public, but i can assure you all when i take this to a small claims court it will be correctly presented.0 -

It's beginning to look that way. I'd hazard a guess it's been neglected or run on the cheap by the previous keeper who appears to present the car for test every year with suspect tyres.0 -

No you are not, but I really would've expected the AA guy to at least try a jump start before condemning the starter motor.0
