stewby - we have a cable drawer and I don't have a clue what they are for.

OH has a box upstairs of cables and various electonic-y bits from when he built his own computer (he is a complete computer geek and I love that about him). I am not quite sure how some of them have migrated downstairs... or if they actually belong here.
I have removed one cable and one charger that belong to my camera and my ipad charger. We still have an actual carrier bag full, I have no idea what their purpose is so am giving them to OH. If he cannot figure it out then they either go up to the cable box for spares (of what I do not know) or into the bin.
Cannot sell something if we do not know what it is (I really want an eye-rolling smiley on this forum).
    :o

Sucked up something black and spindly in the hoover. Not sure what it was but have stopped with the hoover going for a while to make sure whatever it was can't get back out. I have a slightly irrational fear of black and spindly critters, particularly those with eight legs. So, just in case, the hoover will stay on for ten minutes to ensure no survival.
    :embarasse

Fish tank is all filled with water and heating up now (hopefully). My mum nipped down to pick up some stuff that I am giving her and was disappointed to see it all set up. She was hoping to "inherit" it!!
    :p

Only have under the sofa to hoover (which OH will be doing at the weekend whilst I am at work) and the TV unit to clear, clean, move and hoover underneath.
The black and spindly issue has gotten me worried about what might be lurking behind the TV unit (it doesn't really get moved at all) so am trying to put it off.
Would love to get it all done before OH gets home in about 30 minutes. Might need to be brave.

Mothernerd- fingers crossed he's doing better in the morning

So another SFD today which takes me to 5 😀 Not great but better than last month!

I slept with the duvet on the mattress last night and didn't have back pain today! Not sure if it is a fluke! If it is still OK on Wednesday I will cancel my new mattress and buy a topper instead as much cheaper 😇

Off to gym now- hope everyone has a nice relaxing evening :)

Saturday was a spend day which I knew as went to supermarket to do audit and thought I would get some bits and pieces while I was there. The list got longer and longer and became almost a full weekly shop:eek:
But I got quite a few things that will last such as large box of surf for £4.50 and the soya milk for the month (for work) to save my NSD's as I am waaay behind!!

Ended up spending £70.99:mad: but to redeem myself the grocery budget has been topped up today. I thought we had £100 to last until 25/1 but Child Benefit went in today and £100 gets moved to food so strictly speaking it was just an early shop for today:D

I thought Sunday would be an NSD but on Sat the supermarket had none of the GF bread I like so on Sun when I did another supermarket audit I picked up some GF bread which should last til the end of the month.

As I had spent I decided to order some much needed coat hangers and the cat food and dog treats for the next month.

So this weekend was 0/2 for NSD's.

I don't think I can meet the target of 21 now but if I can get 19 or 20 it will be an improvement on 2015 when I probably had 1 or 2 NSD's per month.

Today was a NSD taking me to 9 for the month.

oooh just calculated and I might be able to make 21 NSD's if I don't spend for 2 weeks:rotfl:

Sorry for spreading alarm and despondency - mum's partner is much better (only found out at 5 pm). They have now decided he did not have a stroke and will put the pacemaker inside (will stop him trying to remove it as he did the oxygen mask and thumb monitor) this evening. Mum is back home and will stay home tomorrow as one of her nurses is due to visit.

Spendy day, a little on food plus bought my coir compost blocks and shelf supports - still have my approximately 30 year old uprights, wilko have recently brought in the matching shelf supports (extremely strong ones) which were discontinued years ago (manufacturer changed the design for much flimsier ones). Only have a few of the old supports (some of the old ones were very long as they supported 3 shelves of albums and have searched in vain for the carrier bag I am sure I kept).

We had a large bag of cables in the bottom of DS3's wardrobe until 3 years ago. Every time I asked the boys assured me that it was always useful to have spares of some cables. I filled the large rucksack with spare cables (I think some were printer cables, they give you one for a pc and one for a mac and we had 3 printers of various vintages) and various electronic bits that no longer worked and took them to the tip. They said I wasn't allowed on without a car but I was already on so i smiled sweetly and asked the worker to take them to the collection point (at the far side of the site). Sorry Stewby they really shouldn't go in the bin (for environmental reasons). I currently have a rubble sack with a few bits in - hoping I can get someone to take them when they do a tip trip.

Have done some research on savings accounts as I need somewhere to put the money mum owes me when it comes. Need to look at Power of Attorney for mum too (partner's children already have one for him).

I have also managed to clear some more clutter (will update signature soon) but not noticeable so far. Need a plan for getting the house in some sort of order but need it not to be a big list - maybe look at each room in turn and pick 3 things that would improve it. Restoring the under stairs shelves would help but need more supports (bought all the ones they had so need to go online or do a day trip running round nearby stores).

Today I am grateful for support from my mum's cousin, for feeling useful (if exhausted) and a beautiful lamb butty.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Well a spend day today as planned. Got OH's birthday card and food for his birthday dinner.

Bob we are having prawn cocktail (one of his favourites and we have the prawns and sauce left over from Christmas) followed by Roast duck (chose a whole duck as it was the same price £8 as 2 duck breasts) followed by birthday cake (shop bought as he is the baker in the family and I couldn't ask him to bake his own birthday cake). Didn't use the M&S vouchers in the end as it was already a spend day so didn't see the point in spending more for the ingredients. I do love him really :rotfl:

Hoping for an early night so that I can try to get up and make OH a coffee in bed for a change it will be his birthday after all. I'm usually a very spoilt bunny and have mine brought up to me every morning :j my turn to do it tomorrow

    Night all

Really pleased to report that today is not Blue Monday at all for me. I feel like I've been miserable and stressed for weeks, and I am still completely shattered but feeling ok tonight. The work meeting I was dreading went ok, and I always feel better after exercise.
I got a brilliant freebie today as well. Someone I work with brought me a Bowie Greatest Hits CD - I had been planning on buying it but it was an unwanted gift as he had all the albums anyway. It's gone in the car to make the kids suffer on the long commute... :p
Also popped to Mr S on the way home as we needed more cat food (already!) - they had a good offer on, plus I bagged some ys stuff and then paid for the lot with my nectar points. Yay! So I can still claim a nsd as well.
Mothernerd, I'm pleased to hear that your mum's partner is doing better today. It's a stressful time for you so it's ok to be stressed about it...
