Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, my days just seem to get away from me n by the evening I'm so tired. I haven't spent anything the last 4 days so I am now up to 13nsd. Very proud of that.
Been keeping up with all the normal stuff- taking lunches etc. got some bread baking now.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820 -
x_raphael - I feel for you, solicitors seem to still work at 17th century speed, it's like they write out a scroll then give a boy a ha'penny to deliver it.
traveller - that is wholly unacceptable of the school. My son is going on a residential in April next year (£200 for 2 nights:eek: so I beat you on that) but we have had since September to pay our installments.
Re the work colleague - I would have been furious too.
We have spent money today - we always do on Saturday. We spent £6 for the kids to go swimming but this was budgeted for, we spent 20p on 2 bottles of lucozade reduced to clear, 98p on Werthers for me, again reduced to clear, £1.70 on two of those mini bags of Thorntons. Then we spent £8.95 in Mc'donalds for lunch using some £1.99 vouchers we had. I have also transferred £11.42 to the debt.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Evening all,
Today was a spendy day as expected but it was much more spendy than hoped. When I went to the garage, they advised that all four tyres should be replaced and the tracking needed doing too. They did say that I could swap the tyres around and only replace two at the moment, but I thought it was better to get it all done at once and be safe. I also took advice from a mechanic friend who told me that usually tyres below £50 were not very good quality. So that came to £260, however I now know I have a safe car to drive, especially as it is due to snow tonight. I know I need to replace the breaks before the next MOT and this morning I couldn't get the car into reverse, but I am hoping this was a one off! The cost of the tyres does mean that I can only pay the minimum off my debt next month, however as I have just accepted two examining contracts, I think I need to not beat myself up too much.
Had a lovely trip out with a friend and then did the food shopping this afternoon, followed by a dog walk and a nice chat with my new neighbours.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi all
What a lovely day I've had, chilling out and working at my own pace. I even did a bit of school work because I wanted to and not because I had to. Brilliant! :j
Chalked up another nsd, did some cooking and baking, only 14 rows to go on my cardi - it's all good at the moment.
Fmess - tyres is the one thing I won't scrimp on. I always buy Hankook tyres for my car, and I am more than happy to justify the extra cost with knowing that they are the things keeping me and the kids safely on the road for 30 miles every day.Not giving up

Or flip it around, you've achieved 3 days where you kept YOUR money in YOUR pocket. Now doesn't that sound better?
I like your thinking Bobarella
Low-ish spend today of £6 on bulbs for living room light fitting and £2.94 on foil. I would normally have left the bulbs for a while but 1 blew yesterday just as the EA arrived and blew the fuse and we will have viewings next week so bought a replacement and a spare.
DS has helped me cook this afternoon and we have taken out of the freezer some frozen leftover turkey and stuffing and replaced with some enchiladas and chocolate banana cake made today. He insisted on doing the washing up (I have a dishwasher) and cleaning up, bless him :A

Today I am grateful for the sunshine, for having my sister and niece visiting, for getting things done, for simple quick and tasty fare, for the smell of lavender.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
A spend free day. I was going to shop but snow was falling (already ice on the ground) so abandoned the idea. Another guest has gone home but gf is hanging on - she has asked her workplace to let her know if she has a shift on Monday.
Today I am grateful for the heating working, for not having to go anywhere, for books, I-player and food from stores. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Didn't manage a NSD, as I had a shopping delivery this evening (first since before Christmas). However, I shan't need another during the rest of this month, just odd bits of fruit and veg and fresh stuff as needed. So, today I guess I am grateful to Ocado, for delivering the shopping so I didn't have to go out in the icy conditions - and for their half price offers0

Hi everyone!
Spend day today, as planned. Done weekly shop for £39. Still on track to stay under my grocery budget this month.
Feeling pleased with myself as I made pizza dough from scratch for the first time today. It's always frightened me a little bit, but turned out really well. So that's another cheap meal to add to next months planner.0
