Evening all,
purplejay - wow that's huge for 1 week! Well done.
calling - hugs, sorry a today is a difficult day for you
CEW - glad you like your fitbit, I've had mine a year and its fantastic
bob - congratulations on paying off another chunk, really pleased for you to be so close to the end of your DF journey
Sorry for having a wobbly couple of days. My past came back to haunt me for a few days and it through me mentally and emotionally. I'm not sure that its all gone subsided again but I read a post online about waking up everyday and deciding that it's going to be a good day, rather than seeing what the day brings and forming a conclusion. I'm going to try and use this to help me going forward.
I'm still having issue getting my electrician to commit to a date, I have the estimated cost and a bit of contingency saved up, now I just need to work doing so I can pay him!
Today was a SFD and got a free bottle of prosecco for doing a favour for an appreciative friend, which was lovely. Also got given two cupcakesTomorrow will be a spendy day as I need to do food shopping, probably will need to pay for car parking and may go to the tyre place and ask them to check my tyres and tracking. Something is not quite right and I'm an eternal worrier so will probably go and get it sorted and it put it on the ccard until payday.

Happy weekend everyone. It's very cold here today. I am really looking forward to a nice cosy day. Although a trip to the library is on the cards. Shouldn't be a spendy one.
Good luck with your plans for keeping the budget tight everyone.

Good morning everyone.
I am SO pleased that I only need to go out today to take dd to her gymnastics class later. DS doesn't have a football match this morning and has decided he would rather stay home and watch football than go to his gymnastics class. I can't remember the last time where I had a Saturday like that.
My weekend marking is already done so today really is a bit of a 'do what's good for me' day. I'm really hoping to get my crochet cardigan finished and onto my next project.
Aiming for a nsd and a bit of cooking and baking for the week ahead, and hopefully getting the kids and dh to help out a bit.Not giving up

Thanks for your kind wishes.
Had a nice evening, few drinks with friend in the pub. Then home tea and youngest daughter came over so had film night and munchies. Less than 2 weeks before she goes off travelling.
Going to have a sfd now today, was going out to get gravy granules but found some in the cupboard. Happy dance around the kitchen.
Bob great payment must feel great to be near 2K.
I can't pay anything off till 20th now.

Hi everyone!
Sorry I didn't post properly yesterday. I'm feeling a bit under the weather and full of cold.
Spent £1 buying lunch yesterday as I was working from a different office where I don't have supplies in my locker (although I did get a free donut from a colleague). It was a planned spend day anyway as dh was doing the weekly shop...or so I thought. He didn't do it, so I lost a SFD for the sake of £1 and still need to do weekly shop today, so that will be another spend day.0 -
morning all
so plumber is paid, £1250 eek but all sorted now. looking forward to having a bath in my new bath!
will be a spendy day today as taking friend out for lunch for her bday. hopefully not too expensive! also need a few bits from wilkos.
going to pop out shortly to deliver a chair i have sold for £8. someone is also possibly coming round to buy some £10 curtains and £5 picture. got a few bits to pop on ebay as well.
been thinking about my pay off order- at the moment i put into my regular saver from my wages and then my airbnb money is used for holidays and home imp (soon to be savings).
my plan is to continue to to put into the regular saver and save for holidays but now build up an EF of £1000 then stop and pay straight off the card. anything left on the card when 0% runs out can be cleared from EF then built back up again.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Just thought I would do a 'half-way through the month' review - hope that's ok?
1. I will aim for 21 no spend days. Up to 8 so far with only 16 days left (inc today which will be a spend day). So I need 13 NSD’s out of 15 – I’m going to give it a good try!!
2. I need to concentrate on my main credit card – I have £107 at 27.5% and £1030 at 0%. I want to pay at least £100 to this to clear the high interest part (£7.77 came out by DD today) and by the end of the month if I haven’t spent all my bus fares/parking budget I will move this across. I paid £100 to my credit card and will know in 2 weeks how much is left of my bus fare/parking budget.
3. I want to stick to my 2016 budget and with DH (finally) on board I think we can buy our current home in the next few years. Money has been paid in to Help 2Buy ISA’s this month by us both plus into other savings accounts we have set up.
4. I often read my subscribed threads every day but rarely post – this month I will. I think I have missed one day when I didn’t post as I had a committee meeting which finished late.
5. I already play the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity lottery which is £8.68 per month (just started but hoping to win as the odds are very good). I will donate £5 to SULSAR as they came out 2 years ago to help find my husband when he went missing (mental health issues). £5 paid to SULSAR
6. I must start meeting up with my best friend every month like we used to – I know she is away in the middle of Jan so will suggest a meet up at the end. I also have a committee meeting in a pub so will definitely need money for a drink and another meeting at a caf! so may need money for drinks as food provided. Think that’s it although we have panto on Saturday – tickets purchased at the weekend, may grab tea when we leave (my children are deprived and want McDonalds!!).
It is DD’s birthday tomorrow, the birthday person gets to pick the meal and she wants Chinese (although will buy tonight as they don’t open NYD and then that won’t count as a January spend!!) The committee meeting in a pub was cancelled, the one at a caf! provided drink (as well as food) and my friend is still away and no plans to meet up yet but will arrange as it is her birthday next week.
7. We have spent most of our grocery budget on Xmas – we have loads of food and drink left and only £100 in the budget to last until 25/1/16 so this is what I will stick to. Loyalty points/vouchers cashed in for Xmas so will start building this up again for Xmas 2016. Still got £11 left which will be spend today on bread, butter, milk and veg – I fear I might go over slightly.
8. This could be interesting – not sure where I can get something for free but I will try. I got 2 lattes and a brownie at the committee meeting and a client gave me a body lotion set.
9. I need to get back into doing surveys so I pledge to do 80% of the surveys which come into my in box. I do cashback on purchases but this gets donated to SULSAR instead (I only really spend at Xmas and birthdays). I have a reward bank account so I get cashback on DD’s – last month I got £11. I am trying to do surveys each evening – I will check at the end of the month if I can ask for any payouts. I am doing an auditing job at the moment but won’t be paid until Feb.
10. I last checked my credit report years ago and managed to get some things corrected – I have defaulted on my Barclaycard since then so it won’t be pretty!! All checked and not good!!
Some better than others :rotfl:
Well done everyone for getting half way:T

NSD no.9 for me.
Had a nice lazy lie-in with bf. Then I rang my mortgage broker, my mortgage offer expires today (solicitor has taken forever to get replies back from the seller etc so we're still waiting to exchange and complete). I was told that he would have the results yesterday of whether or not the mortgage offer would be extended.
Apparently the underwriter hasn't got back to him yet.
It's been 6 months now or replies back and forth so I'm getting very stressed and upset. Especially as I currently have no home of my own. Thankfully I have my bf who has let me live with him in his shared house, and has been awesome support. I just wish I knew where we were so I could start looking for somewhere to rent if its all fallen thru.

Hi everyone-sorry for my absence. My chest infection was a biggie this time and knocked me for 6. Then to put the top hat on that lot my usual monthly from hell turned up too -you have to laugh :rotfl:
I'm sorry in advance, as I have not caught up yet, but am just showing my face. Sending you all hugs and heat as it's very cold of late!!!
News from me, well everything is going as it should be payment wise. My youngest bought a letter home for a residential trip on tuesday for next month. The cost for 4 nights £186.00  Now, I've been on this trip countless times when I was young, as my school used to own the building, but sold it to ILEA (gosh I feel old) to raise cash. I know he will love it and love the children to have as many experiences as possible rather than 'things' so will let him go-but what is it with schools these days and no notice of these trips? I've heard quite a lot of people saying the same thing. I think parents just need a bit more time to put a plan together.
My rant though-I mentioned before that we were having a team lunch in pizza expre$$. This was on Wednesday. I knew I wouldnt eat much as by this stage I was very ill and didn't go in the rest of the week after. Well one work colleague was annoyed that some people wanted to pay for what they ate and nothing else! She went and told our manager that if they feel like that they shouldn't be coming! I went nuts, because I see no reason why anyone would have a problem with only paying for what you have eaten-unless you intend to stuff yourself senseless at the expense of others  and I told her that! As you can imagine I wasn't very popular with her for the rest of the day :unfortunately that was short lived  I only ate food to the value of £7.00 but still ended up paying an extra 50p by the time it was all shared out. Our manager paid money towards the bill too which was very kind of her. A lot of people paid peanuts for the amount they ate though, so from now on, unless it's Nandos where you pay individually,I won't be attending such events! Don't get me wrong it's not 50p I'm bothered about but the principle of the whole thing-it is not something that is bettering my current position,so it's not needed.
Calling-sending you hugs
Fmess-I can Identify. I'm trying to work my way through things and it's not easy. But yes, by deciding you are going to have a good day, the attitude towards obstacles change
Bob-well done on your payments :T
CCL-Have a wonderful weekend
As I said, I have not read anything apart from the last page and need to catch up, so sending everyone hugs and have a wonderful weekend:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0
