I think its an auto enrollment, so you have to opt out if you don't want it. Your employer would have probably got into trouble if they didn't add you.
Yes, I know they auto-enrol all new staff. It's just that I had already opted out. I didn't realise they would re-enrol me again when I moved posts. I though the opt out would stay on my record. Never mind. Sorted now.0 -

Spend day today for milk and a few other bits but not a great deal spent and got lots of extra club card points too.
Whilst I was on a spend day OH persuaded me to finally buy a Fitbit. I've wanted one for a while but didn't want to spend the money but I finally gave in. Only had it a few hours and I love it. I really want to get fitter but due to a medical condition I cannot do a lot of different exercises so I mainly walk. It will be really good to see how many steps I do and how far I actually walk.
I don't buy myself much and don't drink or smoke so I suppose I really shouldn't feel guilty if it's something I really want and will actually use.
Happy weekend everyone

Calling. I am so very sorry to hear about your sister. I don't imagine anything can prepare you for that.
Don't worry to those Turtles that haven't managed daily check ins. It's just good to hear from you now.
Catwoman - of course it counts to be kind to your own husband. I know what you mean about tiredness making you scratchy with one another.
Mothernerd - I was amazed you could get a taxi for £2.70. How far did that get you out of interest?
FunBrum - the lifestyle you describe that your niece has. I don't know if it's a London thing or an age/lifestyle thing. I certainly remember in my 20s I'd think nothing of doing my shopping at Tesco metro or sains local spending probably £10 a day on whatever I felt like including a bottle of wine etc. Now with a family and a lower budget plus a heck of a lot more financial savvy I wouldn't consider that prudent wherever I lived.
So today was a good one for me. I paid off £300 from the card which puts me well over my stretch target for the month. And seeing the £2k mark approaching is so motivating.
NSD 10.
I have one mystery box in the fridge to use this weekend which I'd defrosted. That will be fun
Also here we are half way through this challenge already. Everyone needs to give themselves a big clap for getting this far. It'll be Feb before we know it!
Hugs to all who need them.

Woo half way!
Spend day today, got food and tried a recipe from my simply cook box, it was nice but the portions were small so definitely increasing the side veg/carbs on the next one. I can definitely adapt the recipe so I don't need their special stocks. It was Cajun chicken with sweet potato and red pepper mash, with bacon and fried baby courgettes stirred in the mash...very yum!Credit card respend 2551.58 (15/02/17)0 -
Evening everyone
Hope you're doing ok Calling...
I can't believe how much better my mood is since I got home from work. I had to bring a box of books home to mark, but I have already done them and they are back in the boot of the car. I think it speaks volumes of where my current stress is...
Checking in with another nsd - which I think takes me to 10. I'll see in a sec when my siggy pops up on the post. Hoping for a no spend weekend actually. Payday still seems a long way away at the moment. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Today I am grateful for a chat with my dad, for hyacinths, for time to watch HUTH and do some knitting, for feeling so good after my workout that I pulled on a jacket and went for a 10min run,for having 2 daffodils blooming happily in the front garden.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Still trying to catch up - am on 13th at the moment.
Just wanted to say congratulations to mothernerd on becoming debt free:j
Today was a spend day as needed change for the car park for a hospital appointment so got myself a drink from the shop:mad:0 -
I have done a meal plan and shopped for the next 2 weeks, excluding a little fruit and fresh stuff. I will go over my food budget a bit but had set it 'challengingly' low this month.
My new 0% CC payments don't come out until start of Feb and I was budgeting for them out of this month so that frees up a little of this month's pay. I know the ninja thing is to pay the budgeted amount anyway but the budget is very tight so I am allowing a little emergency wriggle room.
£90 spent on the energy assessment thingy you have to get when you sell your house. House will go on the market MondayWas hoping t would be in the morning but details not signed off in time.
Still stuck on 3 NSDs.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750
