  • Evening everyone :D
Thanks so much all of you for such kind words and thinking of me. I'm just tired, and everything looks bleak when you're tired. I suspect I might be starting to burn out because I don't even feel stressed any more - I just feel flat. Ah well. This too will pass. And when I am done on here I will try again for an early night.
Not an nsd today as it was weekly shop time. Spent just short of £46 in Aldee which should more than do us for the week ahead and then some. Other than that it's been a quiet day on the money front, busy day on the work front (as always) and much improved on the home front.
TOG - I too am in the north east, and I think I was incredibly lucky to miss the worst of the weather on the commute this morning. It was heavy snow when I left and I passed the first accident within 3 miles of home - but got into work on time. My sister normally leaves for work half an hour after me and she couldn't get in (we live in the same town) - all the roads in and out of town were closed.
  • Sorry not had a chance to catch up with everyone yet, hope everyone is ok and for those that aren't have a ((( )))

Yesterday was a NSD and today was a spend day.

I have also got my thing for free - I got 2 free lattes and a choc brownie when I went to a Committee meeting.

    Hope to catch up tomorrow.

  • Hi everyone!

chocolate sorry to read about your accident but well done on the promotion!

    NSD 8 here.

Have had my payslip ahead of tomorrow's pay day and am a bit annoyed that I have been enrolled into the pension scheme. Now, I know I will need a pension, but while my job is only part time and temporary I just wanted to focus on repaying my debts at the moment. I had already opted out in my previous role, and even though my new role is within the same organisation they have automatically re-enrolled me. Will have to look into this properly tomorrow.

Sorry haven't posted for a few days, have been having some tech free evenings which have been lovely. Me and OH played a board game on Tuesday and then last night while he was out, I sat and read a book. Not been doing much so now up to 10 NSDs :D Tomorrow will be a spend day as I'm meeting a friend for coffee in the morning and we need milk.

Lots to catch up on so away to read back now - hope everyone is well.

  • Evening Turtles!

NSD 11/21 chalked up today. :D

As promised today was a batch cooking day - I made some very pink but tasty beetroot risotto, a cauliflower, red lentil and coconut curry and I am currently soaking my dried chickpeas overnight so I can try making a roasted carrot hummus recipe I found online earlier before my late shift tomorrow afternoon. :)
I also paid an extra £100 to the cc - the money left over from the vet budget yesterday, extra £5 spare from grocery budget after receiving my bonus high street voucher from our old energy supplier...........and I had budgeted for a haircut this month, then realised when checking my diary earlier that my next appointment isn't until after next payday so that money has gone in too! :j
Also requested £6.33 of cash back from Quidco, so once that lands in my current account will also sling that at the cc. Bam, take that debt! :money:

My kind gesture today was to my husband (this may not be exactly in accordance with Bob's guidelines, but I haven't left the house today so couldn't find a stranger to help!) :rotfl:
We have been getting a little ratty with each other over the last few days because we have new noisy neighbours that have been disturbing our sleep, despite us asking them very nicely more than once to keep it down (not good when we both do shift work). So today we put on loud but gentle chill out music (to drown out the sound of the neighbours) and I gave him a facial and shoulder massage to try and relax him enough to switch off to the noise (he has more sensitive hearing than I do and once he hears them he tunes into it). Seemed to work for a short while at least!
Will keep buying the lottery tickets in the hope we can either a) invest in some good sound proofing between our adjoining terraced walls, or b) buy them carpets for every single room in their house so we can't constantly hear every knock, tap and bang - I may sound like a miserable old grouch but isn't it a bit selfish to get wooden flooring throughout your entire house when you live in a terrace??? EVERYTHING is amplified x 10!
Anyway whinge over, have got ear plugs and cats that are trained to jump on me when my alarm goes off so it doesn't really matter if I actually hear the alarm or not :rotfl:

Mother nerd - glad you had a good counselling session today. :)

Chocolate - congratulations on the promotion! Shame about the car accident. Hopefully the insurance companies will sort it out quite quickly.

TOG - sorry to hear about your cold feet. Hope you've thawed out now.

Justforme - how lovely of your boss to say thank you with flowers and some extra cash, what a nice gesture! :T

I have a week and a half off starting on Sunday so only 2 more shifts to go. :j
Not going away anywhere but have plans to go to a couple of gigs (tickets already bought and nights out budgeted for), catch up with friends, crack on with catching up on my January Curing of the house, paint my mum's kitchen ceiling for her and just generally enjoy not being at work when it seems to be having a bit of a cold snap!

    Stay cosy and awesome Turtles!

I think its an auto enrollment, so you have to opt out if you don't want it. Your employer would have probably got into trouble if they didn't add you.
