Hi everyone!
Bob fantastic work finding all your roadkill.
NSD 7 today. Doing well this month sticking to meal plan. Haven't deviated from it once and certainly haven't had any take aways! Have been keeping a note of new cheap and healthy recipes I find and am looking forward to a new meal plan next month.
Not much else to report today.

Awwww shucks Bob, you'll make a girl blush. Thanks for the nomination. I can't really take the credit as I read the suggestions straight out of a magazine (a wombling freebie at that!) and found the advice useful so thought I should share it. Themarsbargirl, interesting that your sister uses it with her children, I guess it can be applied to children and adults alike as I do feel myself regressing into toddler temper-tantrum mode when I am having a bad day! :rotfl:
So today wasn't a NSD as the poor cats had their jabs at the vets, and they get incredibly stressed out about it, which in turn stresses me out seeing them so anxious.........which makes them worse because they pick up on my vibes and so the cycle goes on! All is forgiven now though after they had some extra treats when we got home and LOTS of cuddles after they decided they could trust me enough not to stick them in their carry boxes again. Done for another year, and a bonus is that I'd over budgeted how much this would cost, so that'll be an extra £42.50 towards the CC this month. :T
Seeing as I knew that today wouldn't be a NSD I took the opportunity to go and buy some of the food items that Sainsbobs didn't have in my home delivery on Sunday. Went to 1celand and was able to spend a £5 voucher I received from my old energy supplier who I am switching away from at the end of the month; when I logged into my online account I noticed we had accrued enough "loyalty points" to get said high street voucher, so that's another saving on the grocery shop budget this month and resulted in me only spending £4.75 of my own money. I will add this additional saving towards the cc too. It all adds up!
CCL so sorry to hear how tired you are. Money worries and mental health are inextricably linked, which then goes on to affect physical health as well. I was in a sort-of similar situation a number of years ago when my partner was made redundant and we had £20k of debt!!
It's very difficult when you're in the thick of it, but you WILL get through it. I nearly had a mental breakdown over it until I had my "lightbulb" moment that I can only manage the things I can control in bite size chunks and that it was no use to me worrying about the "unknowns". I could control staying within the grocery budget, ensuring my partner's interview suit was in good nick when we couldn't afford a new one etc but couldn't control when he would find another job, how far away it would be/cost to commute.
Remember to look after yourself while you're going through the rough patch; I found a nice relaxing soak in the bath helps recharge me. Add a candle, some soothing music and some nice smellies to make you feel pampered. Failing that, 5 mins of quiet meditation using an app like Headspace still helps me escape out of my own worries for a bit
Apple Muncher - I admire you for exercising the self control re avoiding alcohol. I can only drink when I don't have work the next day anyway due to my job, but I do love a glass of red when allowed. Strangely enough, the sugar in that doesn't affect me in the same way that eating refined sugars in say, a packet of biscuits does?! I end up having hot flushes and feeling very agitated if I have biscuits, but wine mellows me out! :rotfl:
Sorry if I have missed mentioning/replying to anyone specifically but have been writing this post whilst getting distracted by The Undateables on TV, I love that love is possible for all!
Tomorrow is my "Sunday" so will be cleaning and batch cooking for most of the day.

Morning all,
Quick check in to say yesterday was a SFD but today will be spendy as my three legged dog has his hydrotherapy treatment this evening.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone, just hit a little bump mentally related to events earlier in the year. I wish the past could just stay there and let me enjoy the present. Thanks for the posts catwoman, some very useful advice and will remember to use Headspace again today as need to unwind before bed as my sleep has been badly affected the last two nights. I like your HALT acronym, it's ever so true for me.

Sorry didn't post yesterday. Went upstairs to put the washing away and after laid on the bed and that was it. Obviously needed it
Yesterday was a NSD today should be too .
We are hopefully going out to get the new radiators for the lounge but this comes out of the refurb budget which I don't class as a spend day as we need to buy bits and pieces as we need them. So long as it's in budget I am happy.
Back later

Good morning all! I second the nomination of the post of the day catwoman. Thanks for the post.
The Internet has gobbled up two of my posts, the one on Tuesday night and the one last night. Tuesday was NSD no 8, and yesterday was a low spend day. We needed some fresh fruits, milk, bread and sandwich fillers. Hubby spend £18.
I won't make this too long in case it gets gobbled up again.
Wishing you all a wonderful NO Spend Day!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Monday was a spend day.
I went out for a meal and catch up with a friend on Tuesday but he paid so unexpected NSD no.5. And yesterday was a successful NSD no.6

I loathe and detest cleaning and what with the shed stuff from the other house standing about in odd corners, I really don't know where to start. Can barely see the floors. I did well to get the rubbish out, especially as 2 of DS3's friends are sleeping in the front room. They've all bought their own snacks and drinks but I must have put out 4 wastebins of empty cans alone yesterday. I just kept diving at empty bits of floor when one came visible.
As I was cleaning my bfs flat, I did think to myself I'd probably enjoy running my own cleaning company. However dishes is the one thing I detest! It's the only chore I ask him to do. I love watching those 'secret hoarder' programs, and would love to tackle a big project like that. However I don't like dealing with people and wouldn't be able to deal with the arguments over the rubbish they would to keep :rotfl: nuts to the therapy, I'd want to lob it all!

Xspender - we had a similar issue with DD and a boy in her class last year, I wish now that I had taken it further as the head was useless and I have since found out that the boy had been expelled from another school for violence (and this is primary school), having seen his father having a go at him in front of everyone it is easy to see where he gets it from. My advice would be to take it as far as you can.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

catwoman - red wine has the same effect on me too. I only have one bottle a week spread over 2 nights but I really enjoy it.
I'm not expecting to spend today, I did the grocery shop last night and a few additional bits at other places. DH got a huge YS fancy pizza at the co-op last night for £1.09 so we will have that for tea with some wedges and the kids will have pasta.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
